The model that got me back into building after a decade+ (of not building-except that Revell '06 Mustang GT in '06) was Revell's '49 Merc Kustom kit when first released back in 2008. Unfortunately-though it didn't melt and therefore could probably be REbuilt-it was damaged in the house fire w had last year. I happen to have a couple NIB kits of it though (thanks to model forum friends who so kindly donated them shortly after getting settle dlast fall after the fire) ,so I'm going to build it again,with only a few small changes-but hopefull a bit better this time (not that the other was bad,it brought home a 2nd in the Box Stock class in 2010 at a Hobbytown show,LOL)!

Anyways,here are a few pics of the original the day it was finished back in 2008 (I hadn't even got the spotlights or wipers on in these pics,LOL! )...





The NIB kit...



All's I got done today was to prep and spray the body (Duplicolor "Black" synthetic lacquer from a can),get the decals on,and gloss coat the hood (sorry,no pics of the shiny hood yet),as it was storming pretty bad,hail and lightning/thunder. While I was high and dry in the new workshop,with an uninsulated steel roof,it was pretty loud,LOL!







I'm itching to work on this one though-moreso than any build in the last couple years anyways,because it kinda broke my heart to see this/that ne damaged last year. Besides that,it'll be the first complete build in the new workshop
