how to make hood louvers?

I'm working on a 58 vette and thought it'd be a good idea to open up the vents on the hood.

 

needless to say, now i have a big squarish hole on the hood where the louvers used to be lol..

 

so how would/should i go about creating new louvers?  what thickness sheet styrene would be to scale?

Tonight, my cousin Aaron has passed away after about a 20 year fight with cystic fibrosis. Growing up and all throughout his life he has always had a big heart. He even built a couple models with me as a teen.

I'm really gonna miss him. :(

RIP Aaron, and you will never be forgotten.

as the question states, what are your work bench must-haves?

 

for me, adequate lighting, the dehydrator, tools and paint.

does anybody happen to know the rarity of the 71 cuda convertible with the "nash bridges" that has the box art of him standing next to the car and the city in the background?

 

is it a pretty common kit or not really?
