Revell Gt500KR Custom 'Vert

18 August 2011 - 03:17 PM

okay i need to post more here so here i am,

{I am aware that the KR was not offered as a convertible and this is not a factory color}

okay, so obviously i chopped the top off, and my two part epoxy putty dried up, so i used styrene for the top cover. i decided to go stripe less and add little flat black accents. i love the flat black faux gas cap i did, at first i wasn't sure but now i love it. I didnt add the red accents on the door handles because ... well, simply i was lazy haha tire are from the revell mini cooper and i also lowered it.

so enough talking, here are some pics

AMT '10 Chevy Corvette Vert

23 November 2010 - 04:36 PM

I seen the AMT 2010 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible at Hobby Lobby the other day. The kit interested me, although I did not get it. I know that it is a curb side, but was wondering if anyone had seen one built or know what's in it.

thanks all,
-Jordan

Revell '69 Mustang Mach 1 Cobra Jet

17 November 2010 - 08:00 AM

model kit: revell '69 mustang mach 1 cobra jet
color: tamiya italian red

good kit, but had a couple problems. the pillar came bent and cracked after paint. the hood doest stay down so it's glued down. and the front lights stick out too far, so i had to drill a bigger hole to fit them.

i added an antenna and dullcoated & black washed the wheels.

1969 Ford Mustang mach 1 Cobra jet

04 November 2010 - 07:48 AM

this is revell newer release from july, done in tamiya italian red.

the hood stripe was a pain, i've never done so much measuring and testing in my life. they should have include the whole stripe, not just the pinners.

got the stencile taped out:

got the black painted, a little messy and un even, but it will all work out.:

decal on, and opps my measurement was off a tad. ill touch up the paint before clearing.:

clear is on, a bit rough, but the flat clear will take care of it.:

now to mask and flat clear the stripe ... i think it came out great, so much work for one stripe.

got the interior done, just simple semi-gloss black to simulate a vinyl interior. they didn't include wood grain decals like in the new 1970 mach/boss kit, but i used three shade of brown to achieve the look :)
