Modern punch side livestock trailer

08 May 2015 - 06:50 AM

Would there be any interest in a kit for a modern punch side livestock trailer? If I were to make something, would you rather get a full kit with wheels, axles, etc, or would you just want to save a few bucks and just get the sides, roof, and front? What sort of price would something like this go for?

Moebius smooth side van trailer

Well I decided to start one of these. I'm planning on keeping it pretty stock other than the wheels and tires. I swapped out the kit parts for a set of super single wheels. I got the box together this morning, now to add all the little details.

Peterbilt Heavy Hauler

All of these heavy hauler builds lately has me itching for a build. I need something to pull the lowboy I just finished, so I thought I would make a heavy hauler from a snap Pete. I am thinking I will cut it down to a daycab, add a drop axle, move the fuel tanks forward, maybe even modify the cab and hood to be a short hood 379. One thing I need to decide is what tires I want to use on the front,

Or a heavy duty offroad tread:

55 ton 3-axle lowboy

Alright, I figured I would document my latest project. I have seen a lot of people looking for detachable gooseneck lowboy trailers, so I figured I would build one. As I build it, I figured I would make molds of all of the parts and assemble an affordable do-it-yourself lowboy complete kit. This has been a work in progress for a long time, but now it is time to start building.

The goal here is to create a kit that will give builders a good base to build a lowboy. I want to make a trailer that can be built right out of the box that looks good on a shelf without being too expensive, but can also be given more detail by an experienced builder to create a show piece.

This is the 3D model that I created when designing this trailer:

The main rails are 3D printed, the rest of the parts will be cast or styrene.

1/16 scale rims and tires

Looking for some feedback. Is there any interest in more accurate 1/16 scale rims cast in resin? If so, what would you want, 2-hole, 5-hole, 10-hole alcoa? On that note, is there any interest in 1/16 tires as well?
