Don Nicholson 62 Bel Air
07 February 2012 - 01:44 PM
A guy that is a back door reciever at one of the stores I service, had two complete AMT Bel Air kits, he bought a while back. He does not build models. He said he has three, and is looking for the third. He gave the two he found to me, if I could build one for him. A lot of great parts in these kits!!!! He wanted nothing fancy like wires or plumbing, but, for it to look like it does on the box. This build took three days to build, and I took a couple of pics, before giving it to him.
1963 Biscayne "Mystery Motor" Z-33
19 October 2011 - 10:51 AM
I was thinking about doing a build of the "Sox and Sinclair Service 63 Impala, and then decided to build the mystery motor 427 car instead. I am using a MCW resin kit, and a Revell 2 in 1 kit mostly for the chassis, dash, etc. Decals are from Lucas. I have an old Revell 427 Yenko engine lying around that will be built, and used to resemble the 427 in the real car. So far I gave it Bleech White bath, and started mocking up the wheels, and tires, interior with the roll bar. I should be getting everything in primer, in the next day or two. I am taking my last vacation for the year from my job next week, and I plan on getting a lot done on it.
Some unreal Ebay prices.

I was just browsing on Ebay, trying to find some cool wheels, to add to my parts bin. I always take a look on the site hoping to find 60's era slotted mags....but anyway, there is one seller on there, who is asking RIDICULOUS prices for stuff that is parted out of kits. For example...they will take the four rims and tires from a kit, then have a "buy it now" for 23.99, with a 4.99 shipping charge, then say they WILL NOT combine shipping to boot. You can buy two complete kits for that price! I do understand that "there is a sucker born every minute", and no one is forced into buying anything, but, how can someone actually get buyers for this stuff???? I look at at the feedback, and people indeed DO buy this stuff. I totally understand that there are hard to find parts for our projects, but this stuff is out there in inexpensive readily available kits......I dunno...just thought I would post this...and I do understand, if "you do not agree with the price, don't buy it".
1963 Impala Question
19 September 2011 - 12:46 PM
I was considering building the Ronnie Sox / Larry Wilson 63 Impala. Now, I already have the old AMT straight metal axle kit, but, I was wondering, if the Revell 63 kit is overall a better kit? Preferably with a better detailed chassis, without all of the suspension molded in? Thanks.......: )
I am following topic "instantly" but no notification.

Since the sites upgrade, I can not seem to get a notification on the topics I want to follow. Any thing going on, that I might have missed in another post of a problem? Thanks....
I'll keep checking back on this topic post, to see whats up.
