The Chebby smallblock is still the most bang for the buck going in the 1:1 world, and will probably be for some time to come. Tired as I am of seeing them in everything, if I were going to build a V8 rod, I'd go little Chebby just to get something fast, on the road quickly.

...Well, I would have if I hadn't just happened to come upon a '49 Olds 303, complete with Hydramatic gearbox, for $250.   :D

I just scooped up a Buick Straight 8 for when I get around to my rod. 25-7 Tall T, something different.

I did the flooring in my  Hobby Room a couple of days ago , and built some work benches today.  I still need to notch the shelf for the right bench, and put it in, then hang up a couple more sheets of peg board, but overall im pretty happy with how they came out.

Its an excellent kit!  In your question about HOK paint, the Pink body I posted is from this kit.  I have built 5 of them so far and have 10 more on the shelf, so that says allot about it. It builds up really nice, no fitment issues with any that I have done. Only real issue ive ever had is " ghosting" from molding "swirls" in the plastic on the passengers side and roof, show through when using hotter paint ( like automotive laquer, and HOK that I have thinned myself) just make sure you primer it first and you should be good.
