Hey all,
Like I need another project! But after just watching this movie I really want to built a K100 just like "Iron Duke" Jerry Reed drove. Anyone know where there are any still shots of the trucks in that movie? Not sure where I would start, I think the cab would be best cut down from a Revell one, I know I can get most of the decals from Modeltruckin, not sure on the rear suspension it's air ride but not an 8 bag. Anyway, I would love to hear from anyone that has any info.
Take care,
Mark
PS: The movie is streaming on Netflix now, if you have an account, check it out!

Aftermarket wheels on Italeri axles?
20 October 2011 - 10:18 AM
What is the best way to mount an aftermarket wheel on an Italeri axle?? Should I use the inner kit wheel and cut the hub down? I have a nice set of 2 holes for a not so fancy Pete project, just wondering.
Thanks
Thanks
Peterbilt resin hood conversion ?s
19 October 2011 - 09:06 AM
I am after some dimensions for various hood conversions done in 1/24 scale. Most of these use the Italeri 378 as a donor kit, if I am using a 379 Drennen hood cast by porkys, does the cab move back? or down? same for the 388? I know it will on the 389, but how much? Many thanks to anyone who has done these before, I am building a 379 next after I finish a 378.

My Pete 378 Day Cab SBFA Winslow almost done

Here is my latest project, a learning experience for me. I have never really messed with resin except for lift axles and small parts, the hood on this came from Porkys and it is NICE! I also used one of the new FG rear day cab inserts, also, very nice. I shortened the frame .75" and added rear fenders from Porkys too ( had to stretch mine .25") shortened up the external breathers per pics on truck paper, added plano mess for the grill, and cut the stacks 1".
My favorite part of this truck are the winslow decals from Jerry at Modeltruckin, these are really nice, I have quite a few sets here and will be doing another variation or 2 in the future. I still want to add some more details, but my building time has not been great lately.
Thanks for looking,
Mark
