Porsche 935 Martini

16 August 2012 - 05:46 PM

Hi everyone, started this a few days ago,

It's tamiya's 1/12 scale kit, and I plan a lot of modifications. :D

The goal is to build the most correct example of chassis 935/77 ch. 004 (car #1) as I can, so far this is has been a bit of a challenge cause the car crashed then when M.I.A........... :(

so far not much work has gone on, I'm waiting for a bunch of part to show up, but I did start on the brakes....

Well first of I read on some other forums that the stock calipers don't fit on the brake disk when you have the photoeched on them, but,all you have to do is a tiny bit of sanding to thin them out.

Posted Image

then you got to cut of  the mounting points so that they slide over the caliper brackets, other wise you cant fill in the seam...

Posted Image

then everything was drilled out for some turned parts, also the seams where filled with some tamiya putty, these parts where cast in 1:1 and conveniently the casting seam is right on the joint in the model, so i shaped the putty to look like overfill in a metal mold

I've got brake bleeders to fill in later, once it's all painted...

more soon....

350z track. RATROD

10 July 2012 - 02:03 PM

Well Here I go staring anther wip even thought the big bike isn't finished yet.

This is the tamiya kit originally i bought this thinking i would build what I'd like for a first car, the 350z in real life is reasonably obtainable for a first car for me, but I honestly suck at shinny paint so I'm doing a kinda of euro rat look combined with the Air force. Not sure If that style exist, or if anyone will like it heck I'll probably hate it in the end but basically the car's gona be olive drab with exposed rivets and be crazy lowered ect. ect.

Probably should shut up and post some pictures.............

First off as I said the car is gona have a bunch of rivets, I plan to use two sizes just for more fun for the larger I've drilled out a bunch of holes, that later will get rivets, for the smaller I'm gona use the decal ones. Also all the panel lines have been rescibed and given a black wash that hopefully will still be seen once painted.

Wheels where the next big task and they come from tamiya's Porsche 959 that I showed a while ago. right now there in primer but later they will probably be lime green.

Posted Image

Then the suspension was messed entitle i got this stance. The fronts are pulled in a ton and the back stick out with some negative camber.

Posted Image

Here's that negative camber:

Posted Image

Also carved out the area for the license plate that later will have two big pipes sticking out like jet engines

Posted Image

The front of the car was really boring stock:

Posted Image

So I built this huge air box behind it, and added some details to look busy

Posted Image

Then when installed you just could look through so I built this plate behind it to kind look like the front of a engine just a bunch of pulleys and two turbos, later I'll add some mesh, sorry this pic's kinda sucky......

Posted Image

The chassis plate is really nice and detailed from tamiya but I paint really thick so I re scribed some of the lines so details where more bold and got it into primer.

2010 Mustang

26 June 2012 - 10:39 AM

Hello everyone,
Finished this today, it’s a 2010 drift mustang, to be honest I hate mustangs and drift racing but I’m trying to have a model of all the different types of race cars, and allegedly mustangs are good drift cars so this ended up being made.

Mostly box stock, I replaced REVELL’s tires with some much smaller PEGASUS tires, I also lowered the suspension I know a lot of people in the mustang CBP are just modifying the breaks but it seems kinda cheap so I went all the way, mini tubed the rear, thinned out the front fenders, new suspension arms and the sort, The interior was painted all black, the carpets where done in texture paint, and seat belts where added , the engine is all stock with some random wires added to make it look busy and some aluminum ducking added that caries air to the interior, and a new front spoiler was added, the rear got some battle damaged, then the paint was all done like the hippie van I did a few days ago, and then it was all weathered.
