Name those plates!

03 November 2012 - 07:13 PM

Since my hobby desk is still in boxes in the garage I thought I'd find another way to amuse myself while I'm trying to get it back together. While cruising the web this game occurred to me.

What follows are pics of license plates from famouse movie cars. Some are real easy and others may take a little research. See how many you can name and feel free to add more. This could be fun and entertaining or it may just die out. Lol

Johan 63 Fury - redo

16 September 2012 - 04:35 PM

Ive had this kit forever and this is actually the third build it's gone through. It's been  languishing in a box since we moved about 15 years ago and it got damaged. Here's what I started this build with

Everything was stripped and redone using all kit parts except for the wheels and the missing air cleaner which came from the parts box.
Here's the finished product.

And then when I couldn't get the hood to sit completely flat I wound up doing this.

Fortunately it looks good without the hood too. Lol

Just for fun - first pics

26 August 2012 - 05:56 PM

I ran across this pic and thought this might be a fun topic. Post the oldest pic you can find of you with a car. We all have them so dig them out. Give a little background on the pic if you can. Let's have some fun.

Here's mine.

I was two years old and it was taken at my grandmothers house in San Leandro, California. I am the already car crazy nut behind the wheel. I'm guessing the bug must be a 65 or so. 😃

iphone app

19 August 2012 - 07:42 PM

I seem to be checking the forum more and more using my iphone but so far haven't been able to figure out how to upload pics from it.  At the bottom of my iphone screen it mentions a "IPS Communities App" for the iphone.  Anyone using this?  I'd love some info before putting it on my phone.

Not just for modeling

Here's one that I thought everyone knew till someone looked at me funny the other day. All of us have extension cords or electrical items with cords that need to be tidied up for storage etc. Grab an old toilet paper tube and fold up your cord then stuff it in the tube. Done!
