In Topic: M.A.D. models 40 woody

The only issue with the master when I got it was the tape used to simulate the top. It was peeing. I removed it and used a textured paint rather than tape. I could not find good pice to show the correct seem. I left it without the seem and figure it is something easy for the builder to scribe in if they wish.

Thanks, that would be correct without the seam down the middle - just holler if you need Woodie reference pics.

There is some AAM stuff being redone. Motor City Resin Casters does the International bread truck, Missing Link does the 78 LTD and I just started offering the 40 Ford Woody.

Hopefully you corrected the seam down the middle of the top on the '40 Woodie!

That would be silly w/ a model car, wouldn't it?

Why would it? Deceptive advertising is a big deal in today's market, once the DA sends the complaint on to the manufacturer they can respond, correct the problem or it moves to the next level.

In cases like this it involves product crossing state lines and has more weight.

Until you take the manufacturer to task they will keep repeating their mistakes, I don't believe fraud is involved just some poor marketing/production mistakes. The current Revell '50 Olds produced without the wide whitewalls advertised on the box is a prime example, sure Revell will send you the tires they should have provided IF you know about that program. The point is they should have had to pull the product and have an advertising campaign to inform the injured parties.

The laws are there to protect consumers from abuse, use them or lose those rights.

Funny that everyone complains but have any of you taken the next step?

Remember the kid that complained during a price freeze that Testors raised the price on the bottles of paint?

The best thing to do is file a complaint with your local District Attorney, they will then investigate - here's a link to the forms in Orange County and yes it works.
