Rodriguez does Bonneville on a budget

22 April 2013 - 01:17 AM

Back story: Rodriguez had been telling the workshop boys stories of the old days when he and his dad used to go to Bonneville to race his old man's 34. This had gone on for some time so one day the lads decided they wanted some of this action so off they went to Rodriguez's old man's place to get the race car and hauler. Well they had both been sitting for a long while and the cancer had set in a bit, but what the hell, onto the trailer, hooked up to the old race team camper and off they went. Some call it rust, some patina, the lads just called it a hoot and Bonneville here we come.

Sending out a huge thanks to Dr Cranky for his amazing website, detailed tutorials ans inspirational models.

Ed Roth Mysterion

Completion #4: Difficult kit to build but I'm happy with how it came out. Added machined engine pulleys, machined distributors with vac advances, new machined air filters, wired with clear plug leads, full angel hair interior with machined knobs on the TV and radio, real chrome steel coils springs, painted in three different yellows to get the final finish. Tinted the bubble top.

Ed Roth Tweety Pie

04 April 2013 - 02:17 AM

Hi guys, I've been giving the drag cars a rest for the moment. Got hooked on building some of the Ed Roth cars

Here is Tweety Pie, nice little kit to build. Added my own machined guage faces, custom mixed the royal purple paint and lavender interior. Also swapped out the front tires with some more realistic looking ones.
