So, I finally found the tires to use.  Brought my Dad's Payhauler cornbinder dump truck and froze it before tearing it apart.  So I am going to make molds of the tires and wheels and rear axles to use on my rig.  I am going to change the tread pattern a little and see if I can fill the center section of the tire to fit regular truck wheels.  This may take beyond our alloted time but I will keep posting as it gets more dome.  They are pretty big but I figure madmax/post appoc means using what ever you got so this will be pretty bad ass.

Wow, some very cool tires you found there - I dont understand you will change them at all, they look very cool as they are, as you said yourself: anything goes because "madmax/post appoc means using what ever you got" and those wheels could have have been found on some military equipment and then used on the car (big rig) I think the very "business" look of them are perfect for a post apocalyptic/ Mad Max look. Just my 2 sence. (however, if you do resin cast them I would love to buy some, if you would let me) Just awesome!!

That's awesome... I love the low lines, yet sitting up on big tires... Gonna look sweet when done!

Thanks - that is just the hole idea with this build to ge a little different look while still having those big rims/tires on it.
Thanks

Its been a while since I've posted last time in this treat, but I'm building an Tootless zombiehunter vehicle - that I would like to ad to this caravan.
Its a build I call "Last Girl Scouts" and its origin is a '51 chevy Fleetline cut op in pieces and put back together again a little shorter so I didn't have to elongate to roof and because I think it looks cool that way: shorter, chopped and really cut up fenders to give room for some big mud/rockcrawler tires on beadlock rims.
I have been looking for some time, at the military guys and the beautyful work they do with all the weathering and rust and mud/mudsplash and all the other things they do to make their tanks and armoured vehicles look so thrue to nature.
Then I bought Mr. Crankys book and I really wanted to try this out and then found this community build and I just had to participate - just like when things fall into place. Well as I said this is the first time I'm trying out this kind of paint-scheme, but dr. crankys book really helped me a lot with the first steps. I still need some colorwork on the body and some rusty her and there and some mudsplash in the end, but I feel god about this.
Now all I need is a interior and a chassis converted to 4x4 or taking a frame from a 4x4 truck, not shure wich way to go about it, but thats the next step, hope you enjoy it.
PS: I also added one of the girlscouts that Im trying to build for this entry.

Updates, Updates!  Everything is looking good from you guys.  Hopefully mine will turn out that good.  I need to do some casting for a .50 cal ma duece and such.  But this is where I am now.  I took the big step and no turnin' back now.  The turret looks a little off but is actually centered in the cab.  Shaved a bit much off one side so I will need to infill.

I took the lowboy trailer kit and hacked the center section out which made it perfect lenth.  Then I plan to hack apart some of the transformers to build the roof turret section.  Got the tires and wheels figured out thanks to Dave at AITM.  We also figured cab mounts need raised and possible suspension lift.  We'll see.

WOW - That truck looks so cool and frigthening that I would retire if I was a zombie :o  Just love the style of your build  .
Keep it comming please.
