Paint is Scalefinishes Ford D3 Colorado Red. Two coats of Tamiya fine white primer, sanded then 2 coats of red. Found imperfections in the finish so wet sanding was needed. Just shot one last coat of the red before I clear it in a couple of days.

Blending rubber and aluminum

05 January 2014 - 09:47 AM

I'm using Pegasus sleeves for a project, but to get the look I want I need to blend the tire and sleeve to look as one. I figure I will need to epoxy or glue them together but what are some good suggestions for blending them together? Here is a picture of what i'm working with.Attached File  tmp_20140105_134317-810509548.jpg   118.89KB   0 downloads

SVT Lightning

29 December 2013 - 12:39 PM

Starting this thread off with the wheel and tire combo of this truck. I am going for the correct visual for the appearance of this kit as it is just not correct from Revell. Below is the actual truck

ford_f150_svt_lightning_red_1999.jpg

The white wheels is the kit with the stock wheel/tire combo, the silver wheels pic is modified kit wheels with Pegasus 23" sleeves

IMO the kit wheels look a touch too small compared to the truck while the silver looks like it has a touch too much sidewall.

Please give your thoughts on both
