Wonderful work! anything Mack always gets my attention,i have often contemplated this project myself, but do not posess the scratchbuilding talent of most on this forum! you have captured the look of the "real" truck just about perfectly! thanks for posting the in progress photos,as it has given me some ideas!..............................Mark

If able to.a good substitute for this kits ladder steps are those from the GMC Astro/ Titan 90 kits, they can be modified in such a way that they represent a later model Freightliner C.O.E especially when the top step is boxed in from the back as previuously mentioned. When i start on my Freightliner,i intend to eliminate the ladder steps alltogether and built an earlier model with the "stirrup" type hoop steps. BTW,the paint/striping looks great!..........................Mark

There were some really cool bicentennial editions from Ford pick ups to locomotives, everything was red white and blue.

This F-model is pre-bicentennial,Mack did this paint scheme in 1970 to promote their 70 year anniversary.........................Mark

This is a mid to late sixties GMC 9500 series, the short hood version, usually powered by a 238 Detroit diesel, and equipped with a tag axle, the 9500 series also came in a long hood version,a good many of those were V-12 Deroit powered. The same cab was also used on the later "Brigadier" and "Bruin" series trucks by GMC and Chevrolet respectively. Many car-carriers used this exact set-up as it was pretty much bulletproof for its intended purpose.............Mark
