  1. Great news to hear that we will be getting a Starsky and Hutch Torino eventually, I thought that we would have had one years ago!! On the subject of cars we would like to see released, I remember watching a series called 'Due South' and the one character drove a green '71Buick Boattail Riviera. That one would probably sell I think. And what about any 80's four door sedan, Ford LTD, Chevrolet Caprice/Impala, Dodge St Regis/Diplomat? Most were used in police series in one form or another so a few of them would be nice.
  2. Just read through your thread and I am stunned by your build. Your detailing is amazing and having built one of these without the PE detailing, im impressed with all the extra work that you put into yours!! Not wanting to hijack your thread but this is my one... Mine is pretty much built as a showpiece or maybe one that's been restored, I tend to shy away from weathering my models for fear of overdoing it but you have pulled yours of just right!! Again, excellent job, you should be proud!!
  3. Here's some of mine I will throw into the mix... Chevelle Station Wagon Pontiac Firebird Trans AM Kammwagon BMW Z3 Coupe
  4. Hello guys, firstly I would just like to say a very big thank you for all of your thoughts and comments, they really do mean a lot to me. As I was saying, this is the first Belkits model that I have put together and as some of you seem interested in having a go at one, I thought that I would point out a few things that you may find of interest when building yours. As far as I am aware, the 4 Belkit rally cars are, Skoda Fabia WRC, Peugeot 207 WRC, Ford Fiesta RS 2000 and Ford Fiesta RS WRC but there maybe others so check them out. 1. The mould quality is very good and as good as all the other mainstream kit manufacturers but the plastic feels quite thick and mine had a slightly waxy feel to it so a good clean in soapy water is a must before painting 2. The instructions can be a bit vague in places and its probably best to study them properly. There were parts for the Fiesta 2000 which were not needed on the WRC version but the instructions do not tell you this at the time. I spent one night looking for parts for the chassis plate which I later realised I did not need so it may be best to check exactly what parts you do need before building, I know I will be doing that if I ever build another one of their kits. 3. The decals are of excellent quality but be warned, they are pretty much the sort of 'once they are on, they will stay on' so for precise location, plenty of water and micro sol will be needed so that they can be positioned properly. 4. As for decal location, you pretty much have to rely on the box photos as you do not get a decal placement diagram in the instructions as you do with pretty much everyone else, some placement of the decals can be a bit of guess work so it maybe a good idea to get other reference material unless you know for definite where the decals go. I hope these few pointers are of help to those who maybe thinking of buying a Belkits car and that it doesn't put you off and once again guys, a big thanks for all your kind comments.
  5. A very nice model, I don't think I have ever seen this kit before.
  6. Very, very nice!! I may be tempted to build mine now!!!
  7. Hi guys, here is my latest car in the garage, the Ford Fiesta RS WRC. This kit is from a company called BELKITS and is the first time I have built one of their models and I must say I am quite impressed with the quality. As always, all thoughts and comments are welcome and thanks for looking.
  8. That is stunning Geoff, I have the rally version to build. Hope mine turns out that good!!
  9. An issue I had a number of years ago was when I was building a replica truck for my father in law using a rare Matchbox Volvo FL 10/12 kit. Our 6 month old Boxer puppy got into my hobby room after I forgot to latch the door shut and decided to use the cab as a chew toy. It was totally destroyed and the only ones available at the time were going for silly money on e bay. I didn't get much sympathy from the wife either; "he's only a puppy, you should have locked the door!!" But as the saying goes, "what goes around comes around", I had the last laugh when he got into our spare room and decided to play with one of my wife's collectable Beanie Babies!! She didn't get much sympathy from me either...!!
  10. While on a recent holiday to New York, I took the advice of some fellow forum members and visited a couple of hobby stores while I was in the city. This is what I managed to bring home with me: The Dodge Charger, the Ford Thunderbird, the Diecast trailer and the Diecast Ford Crown Victoria were all purchased from the Red Caboose while the Ford Mustang,49 Mercury Wagon, Ford Explorer, Mayers Manx, campus friends set and the garage set were bought from Jans Hobbies.(The Mercury wagon was bought because my wife likes it!!) Once again, I would like to say a big thanks to all who originally helped me find these stores, the only problem I had was not being able to bring back more!!
  11. Bought this at our latest show... [url=http://s1107.photobucket.com/user/markr3/media/676_zpscb2c4faa.jpg.html][/uR Never built any of their kits before, they have also released a Fiesta S2000 WRC, Peugeot 207 WRC and the Skoda Fabia WRC ,all in 1/24 scale. Have just started on the Fiesta so will post up pics when completed.
  12. This is what me and my wife share... A 2003 Ford Fusion 5 door hatchback, inherited from her mother, full service history from new with just over 42,000 miles at the moment. My daily driver.... My works Isuzu NG 75 Forward Easyshift 7.5tonne flatbed beavertail. 2 months old .My old 2009 Isuzu Forward which currently has 145,000 miles on the clock has been passed over to my fellow work colleague.
  13. Many thanks for the info Jim B, I needed to update my Compatibility View for the forum as its been a while since I was last on here. Thanks again!!
  14. Hi folks, me and the wife will be visiting New York in a few weeks time and I have been given permission to model shop as long as they are not too far away from our hotel which is the Sheraton New York by Times square. Any info will be greatly received.
  15. Apologies for the lack of photos,my photobucket is not playing ball. When I click paste,no pic is appearing as it used to. As I am not really a computer geek, any help will be greatly received. Thanks!!
  16. Hi folks, this is my first post this year as I have been working on this for the past few months. I started out with the Revell Peterbilt snap kit and built it pretty much out of the box using Tamiya Gloss black on the body. I used the United Trucking decals on the doors along with some Harley Davidson decals as well as the great stars and stripes decal for the rear cab wall. Some airlines and a driver from the Italeri accessories were fitted and the rig was complete. The trailer is the old AMT Fruehauf 40' box trailer that was built completely out of the box with the exception of the Harley Davidson decals and a few extra decals on the rear doors. The paintwork reacted slightly on the trailer but I guessed that trailers weren't exactly well looked after anyway so it was cleaned up without being too fussy about it and that was also complete. I managed to pick up the Vegas sign whilst on holiday there a couple of years ago guessing that it would come in useful for a diorama of some sort. It is made of plaster and was designed to be hung up with some decorative ribbon and painted with some little tubs of poster paint but after sealing it with some watered down PVA glue, it was sprayed with some Tamiya Gloss white and detail painted with Tamiya colours and 2 lengths of aluminium box tubing fixed to it completed this. A good friend of mine made up the base which consisted of some balsa wood for the central median painted in deck tan and some cork scatter laid on top with a small square of grass matting in front of the sign. Some internet surfing showed me a picture of the Vegas sign with some card suits laid on the grass so these were made from thin plasticard and coloured in using red and black sharpies. The actual stuff used for the tarmac is self adhesive non slip grip tape as used on skateboards, a good tip for anyone wanting to replicate a road surface for a diorama. So there you have it, my first ever complete truck and trailer combo on a diorama, I just need a couple of figures now to finish it off properly!! Thanks very much for looking and as usual, all thoughts and comments are very much welcome. .
  17. I have just bought a Revell of Germany '68 Dodge Charger RT 2n1 (stock or street) and am wondering if its the same kit?? I will post a picture up if you need to see it. I will certainly be watching this thread though and the best of luck with your build.
  18. Some very ,very nice work!! I bow down to thee, my friend!!
  19. Some nice models there, I particularly like the Porsche 911 Turbo. Tamiya kit??
  20. Thanks for your comments, Slusher, I wouldn't fancy a real one as they did have a tendancy to topple over when cornered hard as they were rather unstable. I know this first hand because a friend of mine rolled his and totalled it a number of years ago...
  21. Very impressive build, I have recently bought an american promo model of an '88 Buick Reatta, I hope I can achieve as good a result as yours!!
  22. Hi folks, here are a few pictures of my last build of 2013, my Suzuki Samurai/SJ410. Painted in Suzuki Silky silver spray, this Fujimi kit was basically built box stock;however I did raise the suspension slightly and added tyre valves on the wheels. I also added some scratchbuilt mudflaps along with some KFS numberplates and a set of Kens Kustom dice. Thanks for looking guys and a happy new year to you all!!
  23. Hey guys, been away for a few days and I would like to say a big thanks to all who have commented on my builds, as always they are very much appreciated. I have been trying to post a few more pics of my little Suzuki jeep but I think my photobucket is not playing ball at the moment, showing up copied but not letting me paste on the new post page. Currently working on a BIG project for 2014 so we shall see what happens and a very happy new year to all!!!
