  1. Exactly, and Jeff Gordon used to be masterfull executing the bump and run as well. Nobody said anything then. That being said, I am not a Logano fan by any stretch of the imagination but I do not dislike him either.
  2. I understand completely what you said Mr. Van. I am not a Kenseth fan by any stretch of the imagination and this is more of a tribute to my father in law who was a fan of his then anything else.
  3. There is a story behind this car. Many years ago I bought this car (It was a Hotwheels release) for my late father in law who was a big Kenseth fan. It was his first 1/24 he ever got. He displayed that car in a very prominent place in his man cave as he cherished that like there was no tomorrow. It was also the start of his diecast collection. Fast forward to 2015. Pops passed in April and naturally, all cars that he collected and I dropped of there because I had no space left, ended up at my house. Then I got to do some trading and one of the cars I got in a trade was this same car. Now, I had two of those. Thinking that I had to most likely strip it and make it another custom at some time, I did some research. I found that Kenseth had driven this car in a No Bull version. The conversion then became a fact. A simple standard Hotwheels car made look like something special. The orange as always is handpainted as I prefer it that way.
  4. I haven't been on here in a long time. I used to visit Randy Ayers' website to browse and get ideas but that one is unfortunately battling some major issues. Long Story short, I learned a lot and been making my own Mark Martin Customs. Sometimes its a simple conversion, sometimes a complete strip, paint and decal project. All the fluo orange is handpainted which took me hours to get it somewhat right. The Durablend and the Eagle One are decaled. Brittle as they were, they were difficult to put on. Micro Set helped to makethem somewhat more flexible. Also, the Valvoline Mustang was also handpainted with home made decals
  5. It'd been a while since I showed some of my work here. This is a fantasy car that I would have driven if I would have been a nascar driver. I also posted it at diecastcrazy.com. Stripped a Jay Sauter AOL Monte Carlo, primered it, painted it as close to the powder blue as I could find it. Made my own decals and clearcoat. Nothing to difficult, but a nice model for in the display case.
  6. Very nice builds. Made the Delco Remy car myself not to long ago.
  7. That's the one and only indeed.
  8. That would be great. I did find some pics of a custom that was made on Diecastcrazy.com where I am a member as well. But I cam always use more reference pictures to make sure I have it right.
  9. . I've been that route and other then some grainy pics I didn't find anything.
  10. That looks like a great car to make. I also saw a picture of Matt Kenseth's Peterbilt #60. Anyone has a decent picture of that car by any chance? I already tried Google and didn't find much.
  11. Thanks guys. It was a lot of fun to do. Currently I have a Johnny Benson #26 Taurus snap kit on the bench that I want to transform. Any suggestions?
  12. So I had this 1/24 Racing Champions 1998 promo Pontiac Grand Prix laying around which I had bought for $3 bucks or so at a flea market and I thought it was the ugliest diecast I had ever seen. Scrolling through Randy Ayers forum as well as Model Cars Magazine forum I noticed this beautiful Morgan Shepherd 1998 #1 Delco Remy America build. And thus there was my idea, let's try a custom. I took the darn thing apart, sanded the body and treated it with 2 coats of Rustoleum Ultra Cover Primer. Two days later, I shot the white gloss which was a disaster as the paint started to bubble. I found out later that the humidity and the temperature outside where the cause of that. I sanded the body once again and waited until the next day and sprayed it early in the morning. Couple of days later I placed the Decals which I bought from James Heller on the body and there it was. The decals were a bit to big but it appears according to Jim Heller that the diecast models are slightly smaller then the Monogram kits the decals were actually made for. I also painted the interior a little and added some parts to the roll cage inside. It isn't perfect but hey, you got to start somewhere. .
  13. . Aha, well thanks for that information. I just might make that car someday. I am now working on a custom that I will show off later.
  14. Are you referring to the #8 Raybestos car? It is Jeff Burton. I was not aware that Bobby Hillen drove this car as well.
  15. Thanks Casey. The stupid thing is that it will upload the picture but it will not complete the process. Thanks for posting my pic.
