WOW that thing looks great, almost a shame to hide it with a hood and frame rails

Great work so far. The sleeper interior is impressive

Italeri's "Canvas trailer" kit 745 has 385/65R22.5 tires and rims. With some modifaction, backspacing can be changed for a steer axle application. I used these wheels/tires on the front of my mixer truck. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=9768

Another Progress shot. just bumper checkerplate panel and chicken sticks, mudflaps, and a few other little details left. As you can see, I've already started to tackle decal creation/placement

Love the bodywork, you just don't see that sort of craftsmanship on modern equipment anymore. A beautiful build!

    Another twin steer:

A month or two ago, there was a chopped and lowered pete or kw cab-over in diesel power magazine, I think the truck was called "Low Bux"

Well, we have made some progress! Cab is in place, Raditor is mounted and everything hooked up. Luckily, all mounting points that were adapted between DM600 & DM800 frame rails lined up perfectly. Lower rad hose was missing from kit, so one had to be fabbed from scrap parts. A driveshaft was also added from the crank pulley to the hydraulic pump, and it actually clears under the radiator. DM800 frame horns were torched out, and new hood hinge/gusset plates will be installed (driver's side visible in photo)

Awesome job on a unique build. Great to see somthing built entirely from scratch. Keep up the great work.

Thanks for the comments so far guys, the colors seem off in the photos (being dark indoors and the flash washing out everthing) so when the build is complete, I will take some outdoor shots (maybe in the snow ) Yes Jim, that is a Calgary Street map book on the dash.

    Mack Dm600 Tri-axle Mixer
Here's my latest WIP, hope to have done for the local car show mid-February. Used an original Ertl DM600 kit with parts missing from e-bay, DM800 fram rails and mixer body from the Paystar mixer kit. Of course, a lot of adapting needed to be done to get the DM600 frame parts into the correct place on the long-nosed DM800 rails

    Rough mock-up

    Interior tub

relocated water tank, and direct drive drum support with plumbing

As usual, Tim rolls out another masterpiece from the mini-Pete plant!!!!!

Yeah, my mixer drum didn't fit together worth a ###### either. Seemed the locating pins were too loose, and the whole thing had a warp on one side, requiring holding the dang thing while the glue dried (where's the CA when you need it??) I was disappointed with the overall appearance of the drum with the horizontal braces anyway, so I followed your lead by scraping and sanding them off. Seams are now puttied, and need a few more coats of primer and sanding.

Nice work so far. There must be some "shared brain" between model builders!! It's scary to think I started this WIP 3 weeks ago:
