My First Car

1975 Ford Granada Ghia Four door, white with turquoise trim, vinyl top, and interior. 302, auto, power everything 105K. $500 in 1982 drove it for almost three years, rebuilt the transmission, and traded it in on a new Escort in 1985. Drove that for ten years. Looked like this with Turquoise top and trim -
One of the first cars I ever rode in was a red 1960 Dart Phoenix 2 door. I was a baby. The 4 door Phoenix was created from a 2 door by some modeler in the past. Johan never made a 4 door Phoenix and Chrysler never made the Dart or Fury with this roof line in a 4 door.

Yeah, that's my photo. Ray's and Fred Cady are available. The Ray's are not cheap, but are nice. -

Since Christmas, I haven't been able to build models. We have a new mouth to feed in the house and she requires constant attention. It hasn't stopped me from purchasing things online. Not necessarily a holy grail more just a grail. Since I started collecting Mint diecasts on the cheap in the early 2000s, this is one that eluded me. Either too busted up or missing parts, I never expected to get one. This popped up with an out of this world buy it now and I didn't hesitate. It's missing tweezers and one door guide is cracked, but compared to so many, it's perfect for me. All paperwork and the box too! A rare moment of calm for June bug

Hachette

I've been looking at Hachette since they first came to be known several years ago. eBay was my only source and they were always more than I wanted to pay due to shipping, knowing what the original cost was. So recently, I happened to see some of the F1 cars on Amazon too much $$$$, but thought I'd check with a general search and sure enough, they had reasonable prices and free shipping for Prime. I picked up these and they were on sale too! Someone else had the Maverick recently and it sure is nice, especially compared to the other dicast offering. Nothing opens and next to nothing chassis detail, but the topsides and interiors look good.

A while back on WatchJRGo his buddy had a problem with a relatively new F-150 and many interior accessories were not functioning. Then the the truck was having drivability issues so they decided to diagnose with a computer. Turned out a cracked rear turn signal that housed the side radar for traffic was water logged and killed everything on the CAN bus. Unplugging it fixed so many things!

I'm late posting. These are the diecast I received for Christmas. The F-86 is from the Italian Aereobrigata it's 1/100, kind of unique. The two Blaney cars are the first winner Next Gen cars and the Texas All Star Race Winner is my first ColorChrome to be added to my collection.

I'm late posting, but these are model gifts I received for Christmas. My two year old granddaughter picked the Mustang. She calls my models, papa cars.

Pretty busy year! I have another I wanted to finish, but I'll finish it next month. I'm hoping to be finished with all the gifted and started models from my stash from the past decades by the end of next year! Then, I can move onto the other two hundred or so on the shelves! I'm sixty now. If I can average fifteen to eighteen per year, I hope to complete all while I'm physically able.

Revell 71 Mach 1 Mustang 007 Diamonds Are Forever

Thanks! Thank you! Thanks! Thank you! Thanks! Thank you! Thanks! Thank you! Yeah, bad decals and wonky tires are something I'm familiar with too, but you'd think by now, this would be old news Thanks! Thank you! Thanks! Thank you! Thanks! Look forward to your build! Thank you! Thanks! Thank you! Yeah, I went lazy on a few things on this one. My son gave me the AMT 007 Mustang to build and it was so bad I have other plans for it. I'll be making it into a fantasy NASCAR Grand American stock car. Meanwhile I ordered this for a quick replacement and finished as quick as possible. I can see you are fan of this body with all the cars and information you have. It's my favorite of all the Mustangs too. The Boss 351 is my choice. -
Nice kit! Best 71-73 Mustang I've built or seen kitted. Decals are a disappointment, several items have no white underlayment and or the registration is off enough to make them useless. The outer wheels should come chromed, I believe the Revell of Germany version did this, and their decals were more extensive. All other faults are my own. Tamiya paints. Thanks for looking! The blackout rockers are opaque, viewed from the side and top they are ok, but when viewed from the bottom in the last photo, you'll see they appear brown I "chromed" the wheels, but the effect is not as good as Revell could have provided. Also, the pad printed tires are wonky The interior is one of the best I've seen for detail from the domestics in a long time. I have an aftermarket 3D resin printed Ram Air attached even though the real car did not come with one. The hood has an impression and the air cleaner is correct for the Ram Air system, so why not. I lost the starter relay/voltage regulator soon after I finished detail painting it. It was in my alligator clip, and then it was somewhere in my hobby room. I might attempt to duplicate something with scrap plastic. I just noticed I forgot to paint the radiator cap. The under hood detail is very nice and those that choose to super detail, will love this. The chassis is well detailed and all the parts fit perfect! See what I meant about the rocker decals, brown. I think I'll be looking at purchasing the Boss 351 to build in the future
