Been a while since last post. Just another quick update! Interior just about done & lamps fitted & glowing. Have yet to hide wires & illuminate the wood burning stove. Next big challenge roof frame to carve & stain, & then fit the canvas roof. Sorry about the poor quality pics. Any & all comments welcome. Cheers. Andy.

Progress is progressing! Slowly but slowly. Other side of wagon interior now done. Woodburner bit of a challenge. Too many tiny "fiddly" bits. Especially the logs. Trying to make something real, gathered from the garden actually look real, by burning on a flame from a cig lighter! Without totally torching something so tiny, was another challenge! All comments welcome. Cheers, Andy.

Any suggestions please? Been using humbrol balsa cement in tube but find it rather expensive & more air pockets than glue!!! Thanks. Andy.

Please pardon my ignorance, but what is basswood? I make my models from balsa wood. Does it warp after being varnished? New to this!! Thanks. Andy.

The black rig started out same as the red original truck. Did a few modifications...Extended the cab & added aerofoil to the roof,(made from balsa wood). Mirror brackets made from large staples. Primed & painted. Added larger custom exhausts (chrome gas pipe) & finally fitted the lights! All comments welcome. Cheers, Andy.

My first attempt at something a bit different! A Romany caravan! No plans, no scale, in at the deep end! Just finished base & wheels, all hand carved from pieces of balsa. Long way to go before the grand plan materialises, with realistic, glowing wood burning stove, parrafin lamps, & other furnishings etc. All comments welcome. Cheers. Andy.

hi romel thanks for your comments ill check out some of your builds i know what you mean about details there is always more before you finish when i deciced to build this last year i just went and bought the materials and started it with no scale no plans just ideas i had in my head i didnt think it was going to end up as big as what it is though its ended up twice the size i was going to build it its 20 inches long all the parts i hand carved and shaped out of balsa wood and ive still got along way to go before its finised my plan is to fit lights to it too ill post more pics of the progress soon thank you for your kind comments. -
i bought this truck to use for spares as i have a collection of 1970s vintage remote contol trucks i used some of the parts from this to get another one working. i was going to throw away what was left of it but after looking at what was left i decided to give it a makeover as it was too good to throw away. i started by extending the cab and adding an aerofoil to the roof then added a bull bar to the front of it all hand made from balsa wood. i thought it might look better with lights on it as well so i got a set of coloured l.e.d christmas lights from a well known high street store and chopped out the amber blue red and clear bulbs i carved the roof light mounts from balsa wood and fixed them to the roof then drilled holes in the cab cab roof so i could fit the lights i did the same with the head lights and the spot lights in the bumper and the lower section off the bullbar i rewired the original on of switch on the truck so that the lights can be switched on and off.the mirror brackets are made from some large metal staples i found at work and the mirrors i made from balsa wood ive still got the exhausts to sort out then its time to paint it. all coments welcome.
