  1. This article is about changes that began on October 1, 2021. The vast majority of complaints in this thread are about what has happened before October 1. DeJoy's previous attempts at change were directed towards efficiency. This article discusses a cost-cutting move. I stand by my statement.
  2. Actually, it was the US troops going to Europe that spread the Spanish flu. It originated in the US midwest. Because the war was the main thing to European and the US governments, they didn't mention it. The world only became aware of the pandemic after it got to Spain, a neutral country, and it became the biggest story there.
  3. Actually DeJoy was CEO of a logistics and freight company, so I suspect he knows something about delivering on time. The problems started when he announced his plan to change how things were done and the the USPS employees rebelled. His plan was stopped last October and all changes reversed. So don't blame him for problems today. My wife has had it out with our local postmaster (well, one of his subordinates because he deems it beneath him to talk to customers) several times about pickups. When she talked to our new carrier (no problems with the old one who retired), it fixed our problem. Turned out they had never bothered to fully train her in her duties. I've had great delivery service and bad. Just got a package in 2 weeks from Ukraine. Had a package from the UK take a month because it sat in a parking lot in San Antonio for 2 weeks ("in transit"). Had a package I sent once sit in a NJ post office for 2 weeks because they didn't know where to deliver it because there were "2 addresses" on it - one was the RETURN address. They are swamped with all the mail-ordering we (as a country) have been doing during the pandemic, but that doesn't excuse the incompetence. I guess lower volume in the past helped cover it up.
  4. Great job finishing the 3D printed body. She looks fantastic.
  5. I use 2mm silk ribbon I buy from Amazon. You can get almost any color you want: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B001EDRZM8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Mike
  6. Excllent work! From the body damage to the dust behind the car, to hiding the car's support, you nailed it.
  7. Story from January 1957: Dale Duncan puts out a fire in his Allard's engine compartment during the 1000 kilometer endurance race in Buenos Aires, Argentina, by urinating on it. His co-driver, Carroll Shelby, had thrown the fire extinguisher out of the car to save weight. They finish tenth. This was also the race that got Shelby noticed by John Wyer, who later hired him to race for Aston Martin.
  8. Really? "BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH"? I didn't type any word that you wouldn't hear on any TV sitcom.
  9. My wife made the comment that he builds BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH models. I do have to say, I don't understand going through the all the effort to "Accurize" a model, but then have the poor fit and finish he does. I'm nt asking for Best In Show quality, just a clean build.
  10. Ahh, an older one. Not an FJ40, but I found an FJ44 https://www.italeri.com/en/product/2957
  11. Fujimi does: https://www.hlj.com/search/?q=toyota+fj
  12. I actually bought my last batch of these at Amazon.
  13. I found 4 listed on the IPMS-USA web site. https://calendar.ipmsusa3.org/all-events
  14. Bob Smith Super-Gold+ CA or Gator's Grip Acrylic Hobby Glue
  15. I also use Pic-n-Stics. Small plastic sticks with a bulb on wax on the tip. https://www.micromark.com/Pic-n-Stick
  16. I just wanted to give a shout-out to UpScale Hobbies. I've ordered from them several times over the last year or so and service has always been great. My last order (about 2 weeks ago), which consisted of one kit and several cans of spray paint, arrived 3 days after placing the order. Can't get much better service than that. And I've even gotten personilezed thank you notes from the Chris, the owner, in my orders. So, give them a try next time you are looking for model car kits & supplies on-line. https://upscalehobbies.com/ (I am not affiliated with UpSacle Hobbies other than as a happy customer.)
  17. Ful contest results here: https://www.ipms-hams.org/category/blog/ More photos here: https://public.fotki.com/ipms-hams/2021-hams-model-car-show/
  18. Nice build with great weathering. Always good to see something a bit different.
  19. Very nice build. I've built the Wave Benetton and have the Tyrrell in my stash. Wave is a Japanese that does mostly sci-fi/gundam but has also produced car, ship, & figure kits. Nice to see an F1 car that's not a Ferrari, McLaren, or 6-wheeler. 🙂
  20. Great job and excellent color choice. I really like your build.
