  1. Airfix will be releasing a Gladiator in their Quick Build line. No idea what scale, though. https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/AXJ6039?result-token=Hmuas
  2. Mundane? It is a sports car. They obviously have a working relationship (ie - paid them money) with BMW as this is their third BMW kit after the two motorcycles. I would not be surprised to see more BMW from Meng in the future.
  3. You could try sending an email to this address I found on the subscription page of the web site: subscribe@modelcarsmag.com
  4. As I've said before, one of the best places to look is the IPMS/USA site. Granted, most will be general model shows as opposed to cars only. Presently, there are 5 IPMS shows in the Northeast Region between now and the end of the year. One next weekend and the rest in the fall. https://calendar.ipmsusa3.org/all-events
  5. I was just looking for an easy swap. Of course, another idea is to cut the tailgate out of the Foose kit and replace it with the seperate part from the '56 (if it fits). Attempting to remove just the "Foose" lettering on the tailgate looks like someting I'd screw up. 😀
  6. I want to build a Revell Foose '56 F100 pickup without the "Foose" lettering on the tailgate. Will the bed from this Revell '56 Ford Pickup fit the Foose kit? They are not from the same molds as the Foose kit has the tailgate molded as part of the bed but the stock kit has a separate tailgate. I know there are other Revell '56 F100 kits with the tailgate molded to the bed, but a friend has this kit? (I won't see him for 2 weeks to be able to check.)
  7. Check out Luka Cee's build videos on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/ModelCarHobbyHeadquarters
  8. If I remember correctly... When the car went to the pre-race test session, the crew thought it looked like a pig. So they painted it pink with the meat cuts on it for the race. Mr. Rossi hated the livery and refuse to allow the Martini & Rossi logos to be put on it. All these years later, it was probably a marketing mistake, as it is has become one of the most famous non-winning Le Mans cars.
  9. Another one of my models to add to the list: 1/43 Starter 1971 Porsche 917/20 Sorry for the old, poorly lit photos.
  10. Here are 3 built over the last 20 years. 1/87 Le Mans Miniatures 2001 Audi R8 1/43 Vroom 1971 Porsche 917LH 1/24 Fisher 1972 Matra 670 - race winner
  11. One of the reasons we prime is to find issues such as this. It can be easier to see flaws in primer than the base materials. It is not unusual to putty, sand, prime, re-putty, re-sand, then re-prime. Nature of the game.
  12. Been tried on and off around the world since 1908. From Wikipedia: "Industrialized societies usually follow a clock-based schedule for daily activities that do not change throughout the course of the year. The time of day that individuals begin and end work or school, and the coordination of mass transit, for example, usually remain constant year-round. In contrast, an agrarian society's daily routines for work and personal conduct are more likely governed by the length of daylight hours and by solar time, which change seasonally because of the Earth's axial tilt. North and south of the tropics, daylight lasts longer in summer and shorter in winter, with the effect becoming greater the further one moves away from the equator. "By synchronously resetting all clocks in a region to one hour ahead of standard time, individuals who follow a clock-based schedule will wake an hour earlier than they would have otherwise; they will begin and complete daily work routines an hour earlier, and they will have available to them an extra hour of daylight after their workday activities. But, they will have one less hour of daylight at the start of each day, making the policy less practical during winter."
  13. Do they realize that with permanent Daytime Saving Time that they will be sending children to school in the dark? We've already had issues with kids being hit by cars while waiting for the bus. I think the politicians think, that by passing this law there will actually be more daylight hours. That is set by the sun angle at different times of the year, not by US law.
  14. General modeling show. The show is located just southwest of the heart of Houston at: Stafford Centre 10505 Cash Road, Stafford, TX. For more info, including flyer and forms, go to: IPMS-Houston.org
  15. I've only ever seen it crack under 2 conditions. Either applied too soon (one should wait about 1 week after final color coat) or if applied too heavily.
  16. It is not a polish. It is a clear coat. I find Future/Pledge to be not as glossly as lacquer clear glosses, so I only use it on race cars models. (Clean & polished street cars always seem shiner than race cars to me.) I also don't always like the way Future/Pledge sprays, so I only brush it on with a wide, flat nylon brush - self levels to remove any brush strokes (provided you don't go back over an area already covered).
  17. I have mixed feelings about the movie. On one hand, it is a great movie. The acting is great and it has the best CGI I have ever seen. (I realized I wasn'tnoticing the switches between live action and CGI.) However, why does Hollywood always think they can write a better story than history. So much of that movie never took place. Like the fact that Enzo Ferrari was not at the 1966 Le Mans race - he never attended any races. And then having over spoilered MKIIs stand in for the J-Car and MkIV. They couldn't get a MkIV? Its a wonderful MOVIE, but it is not "HISTORY".
  18. While I have not seen a Mustang done this way, a few years ago there was a Mercedes race car with a carbon fiber pattern vinyl wrap. So if you use those decals on a Mustang, you would essentially be representing the same thing. The real grey Mustang is just that, a grey Mustang:
  19. I can't really see what happed in your photo but I have had Tamiya tape react with Tamiya clear coat. I had masked to spray a flat black area. Don't remember if I just re-clear-coated, or if I re-shot the color coat and re-clear coated to fix it. Never leave Tamiya tape (or possibly any other) on longer than needed. I remove mine as soon as the paint has flashed over (a few minutes). So if the reaction is on the white, you will probably have to mask the green and re-shoot the white. Mike
  20. Ordered a full resin kit from The Parts Box a couple of years ago. Nice looking kit (still haven't built it). Service was great.
