  1. Sitting next to a former “Tressler Comet” gas station in rural Campbell County, Kentucky, this past Saturday afternoon. Hey Snake, now I can appreciate the “Torq Thrust” wheels....
  2. You will be in heaven with the Cobra that Matt Damon drives around in the movie?
  3. I believe it got like 4-1/2 stars outta 5 on “Rotten Tomatoes”. That’s something you don’t see too often...
  4. If you built balsa wood model airplanes, then “dope room” might be appropriate?
  5. Loved the movie! Even if you’re not a racing fan, lots of fun with all of the “eye candy” in the background with the cars from the 50s-60s. Recommend that you see this one on the “big screen” to get the full effect. ***************************** Here’s the GT-40s from my “Matchbox” collection. About as close to a real GT-40 as I’ll ever get?
  6. I liked it. OK, so it’s not perfect on all of the details, but I agree with Steve that it beats the other stuff. I was fortunate to see it in a big theatre with the “Surround-Sound” (or whatever you call the sound system these days). Explosions shook the theatre? So, I recommend you see this one on the big screen!
  7. Let’s just say that I have way too many that I’ll probably never live long enough to build! Maybe my grandsons will enjoy them? Although I enjoy seeing everyone’s collection, you may want to think twice about posting those photos. A few years ago, one of our Forum members, “Disabled Modeler”, had his home burglarized over the Christmas holiday while he and his wife were away. The thieves made off with a lot of his valuable models. If that wasn’t bad enough, they deliberately smashed some of his built-ups, some of which had been built by his father and were precious heirlooms to him. He always felt that it was an “inside job” by someone who knew what he had.....
  8. Bumper Sticker for the upcoming election ?
  9. I didn’t want to violate the rules, or tick-off Greg. After all, it’s his Forum, and I respect that. However, looks like the fellas are behaving themselves?
  10. I guess I better knock it off, guys. Just noticed that we aren’t supposed to have political discussions here. ?
  11. Dan: This must be a problem internationally. We need some *good* men & women to step up and be willing to LEAD. Pretty pathetic choice of candidates that we often have here......
  12. David: That’s part of the reason I mentioned it. It’s so sad that turnout is so low almost everywhere. The last I heard, the turnout here in Kentucky was estimated at about 21%, which is pretty pathetic considering that we have a major gubernatorial election this year.?
  13. Did my civic duty today. Anyone else?
  14. Albert Einstein supposedly said “If a cluttered desk is a sign of a cluttered mind, of what, then, is an empty desk a sign?” I think great minds (modelers and otherwise) think alike.....?
  15. Got this Frog/AMT ‘68 Corvette today from one of our fellow Forum members over in the UK. (Thanks, Si !) Been looking for one of these for a long time. It will be quite a restoration project, but at least it’s all there. If it looks a bit “off” to you, like maybe it’s a slightly stretched Opel GT, your eyes aren’t deceiving you. ? 16. I stand corrected. It’s been almost 50 years since I had the kit, and that’s a long time to try to remember all the details!?
  17. Monogram “Horn Toad”; first issued 1971. What I found neat about it was the hot rodded Chrysler 225 slant-6?
  18. Just recently ordered some door handles from him after Tom Geiger and Steve Guthmiller recommended them. Prompt response to my eMails. Prompt shipment after I placed my order. Quality of the product was excellent!
  19. Have bought several items from this fellow. Always good quality. Quick shipment.
  20. Fellow plastic fans - I finally acquired a decent AMT ‘66 Ford Falcon kit. I plan to build it stock as a replica of my Dad’s car back when I was a kid. Been looking forward to this project for a long time! Now that I finally have the kit, I see that it’s got the old style “promo” chassis with all sorts of advertising stuff molded into it. I can live with the lack of detail, but I can’t stand this other stuff all over the chassis, and it would be a nightmare to remove. I’m looking for suggestions for a “clean”, more detailed chassis that I can substitute for the old original. BTW, Dad’s car was a plain-Jane powered by the straight 6 (I’ve already found a resin engine). Thanks, in advance, for your help!
  21. There other “interesting” things to be found in the Ohio river that might wind up in a Cincinnati restaurant?
  22. Kurt: See attached photo. IIRC, it’s available in the roadster kits, too, and likewise in the ‘73 and ‘75 Corvette kit as well. The ‘75 was reissued by Round 2 in recent years, but I don’t think it includes the Wankel engine - maybe someone on the Forum can confirm that for us. Anyway, the Wankel is definitely in the old original issue kits. Mike
