  1. Here's the end result of a project I stated around mid June last year. It's a re-build of the truck my Father had been tinkering around with for a while. His hands hurt a little to much to enjoy building and he's very busy with work and other stuff so he offered it to me to either part out or scrap all together. Naturally I did neither, instead tore it down and restored it for him as a now very late Father's Day present. I went in a Overhaulin' style with it, he knew it was happening and gave me a few general idea's for what he wanted. I put them together with a few idea's of my own and the this was the end result, something along the lines of a Overhaulin'/ Fast & Furious/ resto-mod type'ish (lots of "ish" in there) custom truck. He got to see it last night and was blown away with it, he couldn't believe it was the same model. Kept saying if only Miracle Grow worked on these things haha. It's come a long ways since the starting point and I'm happy he's happy with it. Anyway this was the said starting point of the project. End result More pictures inbound, thanks for looking!
  2. Finished! More pictures Under Glass Thanks again to anyone who looked and commented.
  3. Very nicely done! The C-10s from the 60's are among my most favorite truck designs.

  5. Got the truck bed finalized. Went with aluminum plates instead of Wooden boards. Also put the XL fuel cell in the back. At 5- miles to the gallon She'll need it haha. The engine is in place and drying, all that's left is plumbing and exhaust and I think she'll be done.
  6. Thanks guys sorry for dropping off like that, had some stuff happen but it's back on the bench again. Got some Interior work done. Yeah, she's getting a bottle. : ) Should have the details for the bed completed next. Then it'll be mounting and plumbing the engine. Looking to have her wrapped up by Sunday. Thanks for looking.
  7. Wow! You folks have been busy builders. Very nice work and progress! I still haven't made my decision yet. So torn between the Gremlin and F-50. . . .

  9. Welp, I'll have to bow out this year, just fried my brain looking at that... Thanks Mike Joking aside that's going to be a killer entry when completed. Nothing solid on my entry choice, still rolling stuff around my head. The top three ideas right now are. #1 Ferrari F50 (fav exotic of all time) plus y'know "Red Ferrari" #2 Custom Gremlin, very custom. #3 '66 - '67 Tempest Wagon Still close to the table is a Hellcat Challenger but even though I love Mopar's the above mentioned are more intriguing to me.
  10. Very nicely Done Pat! By all means post some pics of it to the completed builds thread.
  11. Very impressive build as always Yuri, always top notch. Looks like the real thing! Nice save!
  12. Liking your entries guys! I'll make a decision on mine later in the month. A modern rendition of that Challenger is a awesome idea Erik!
  13. Same here! It's not "Do I want to enter?" it's "What do I want to enter?" haha. Ferrari F50 Hellcat Challenger '68 Charger "69 Daytona '70 Superbird Or something way off the walls. Choices. . . So many choices.
  14. Alright folks I'm here to announce that for a second year in a now The Cannonball cbp has ended in a tie! As of 11:59/12am with 20 votes each Bruce and Misha tied out. Your winners: Belugawrx and his Chevy AC Delco And Misha with his '72 Chevy Blazer Congrats you two and thank you to all of you who voted this year! All the best in the New Year everyone! Jonathan
  15. Info there came straight from the Wiki page. If it's not right that's not on me. . .
  16. This is your host Jonathan here with the results of this years race. Ladies and Gentlemen for a second year in a row the race has ended in a tie! Bruce held a good lead up till somewhere between Alice Springs and Port Augusta. We don't know what happened (camera's aren't everywhere in Australia, yet). No mater the case or cause Misha found a opening and capitalized on it, taking the lead and held onto it through Coonamia, the prospect of victory looked good. But Bruce pushed his truck to the limits and was able to recover the ground making the last two miles neck and neck. As they come into view in the final stretch neither could seem to pull ahead. It was easy to tell, they wanted the prize, but you could also see the look in their eyes. They wanted it but didn't want to play dirty for it. Both of them had too much respect for each other and their rides. Instead of dog fighting it looked like they simply nodded at each other and crossed the line bumper to bumper. I'd like to say we then enjoyed a good time at the Casio afterwards but the cops weren't too far behind our racers so we all had to make very quick getaways. . . Like the US the popos here don't got no sense of humor. We'll party on the way back to the states. Big congrats to both Bruce and Misha and their builds. A tie seems fitting for you two, both your builds are amazing. And to Dennis, Jay and Matthew, you may not have won in the popular vote but you three are still winners in my eyes. Congrats on building some very fine rides.
  17. Folks, we're in the last two days of voting, if you haven't yet and have a few minutes to spare please check out the voting thread and cast yours. Thank you
  18. Blender's learning curve is a bit different from other 3D Software due it's design. It is in most cases it's considered backwards from others like Maya and 3D Max for example. It's heavily reliant on the keyboard and it's layout is very different from the previously mentioned. So it can be difficult for people who have extensive knowledge of other 3D programs to transition over, so many say at least. But there's a learning curve to anything in life and I think it's more of or less folks just wanting play the 'cool kids' part because their program cost money and Blender is Freeware. To which I say if you've already got that then why move over to Blender? I've been using Blender for 8 years now, I know it like the back of my hand and for me it's control setup and interface are brilliant in design. I had the chance to try out Maya and Softimage last year for a couple of months and even after getting a good feel of their interfaces neither seemed as efficient as Blender's was. Now I realize that was largely due 7 years vs 12 weeks but still I think Blender gets dissed more than it should, it's come a very long way in the 8 years I've been using it. Back then aside from maybe a dozen random tutorials I've had to self teach myself everything I know about it. Today there's hundreds of "Zero to Hero" tutorials on Youtube alone. You can easily learn in months what took me years. If you don't have access to any of the "big name" programs then I highly recommend checking out Blender and giving it a try. Among many things I've done I've done over the years I've made quite a few models to print on Shapeways.
