  1. Looks so good makes me wonder why Dodge didn't do this in 1:1
  2. The chassis in the kit and the LT1 motor is probably one of the best examples of a modern Boyd street rod. I have builf the smoothster and the coupster and they are tons of fun too build.
  3. I always figured this kit was based on the Hurst S/S. Which would make sense that it ended up the Dragon lady kit. Everything mentioned above holds true. I started this kit several years ago hoping to build a S/S replica but lost steam and interest with the chassis.
  4. Dull before clear to mute the flake? I just learned something new, Thanks Marco's!
  5. That lexus is hideous, like a KIA and a Lambo had a kid together
  6. I would imagine you paints from MCW or Scale Finishes would mitigate the problem, as they are designed specifically for models. I know a lot of the Testors paints come off with the same type "boat flake" look you are trying to avoid.
  7. I have used the method Gabriel mentioned but be aware to work it from different sides as it will curl. If your not too aggressive you should be able to get it fairly flat.
  8. You have a long road ahead of you to smooth and polish those out. Hopefully they are not too deep. If you see it through the results will be spectacular.
  9. I believe the editor at 5.0 Mustang magazine K.J. Jones has an 86 T-top coupe. It actually started life that way as well, but in true fox body fashion his has been severely modified documented in the pages of the magazine. You sure do love your Fox bodies Daniel! Looking forward to seeing more
  10. Any one that has built it corrected the tail light panel angle? Not sure why Georges post didn't show prior to when I initially posted my question... but regardless thanks for the answer
  11. The Mazda CX5 can be equipped with a manual. Now the styling might be polarizing for some, but it is leaps and bounds better looking than a Juke. As for the other cars on the list, and H2 is more vehicle than anyone should need, but GM rode those coat tails until the bitter end with all the rappers and celebrity's that wanted them. For day to day it would be cumbersome, but for what it is I am sure it is a capable vehicle. I had a Mini Cooper for awhile and took lots of flak for driving one. Suprised it didn't make the list. I suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder (beer holder?)
  12. reminds me of the old ad slogan "We build Excitement...PONTIAC!"
  13. Wild sign of the times with the trends represented in that build. Those tires scream "HERE'S THE BEEF".
  14. I recently moved into my new house, and having been through the moving drill plenty of times previously due to occupational requirements, my divised method is similar to those above. I for one always save the kit boxes now, and for the ones that have no boxes I save shoe boxes. I look no further than my garage for protection... I have stacks of micro fiber towels for cleaning my 1:1 cars, so I loosely wrap the assembled model in a micro fiber and support the sides with balled up terry cloth or old socks. Hey, don't laugh it works fairly well. Inevitably your going to pop off a mirror or antenna so be really careful when unpacking. For moving them in bulk I have large totes like the big Rubbermade ones you can pick up and Ollies, or Big Lots for a few bucks. One good size tote holds about 8-12 kits depending on the kit box sizes. I make sure to pack them tight enough not to jostle around but not so tight it destroys the box. Be sure to mark fragile!
  15. I had to try to remember this thread: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=58564 looks very interesting!
  16. Love it... it's a decent representation of Mystic too
  17. funny, I never thought of those wheels for a lowrider... they do sort of look like tru rays's
  18. what about a piece of adhesive backed magnetic tape, use masking tape to make labels and place accordingly?
  19. I was born in 76, nothing note worthy IMO came out in 76. Maybe a Trans Am? I am really reaching here
  20. Some more cool stuff about Big Willie and the Brotherhood http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=244401&showall=1
  21. This thread spawned a 2 hour search and educate myself on Big Willie and his winged cars. Great read over a few cups of coffee
  22. Very cool. One would wonder why it has vent wing windows on the rear glass? To keep the recently deceased cool, or for aromatic reasons?
