  1. Hey guys, I'm looking for a decal set for the #75 Clayton Cunningham 300ZX IMSA car. I'm trying to find a set, or probably more likely, learn how to make a set. Anyone have any ideas?
  2. I like it a lot. I have a 32 flat black rod and I love the flat black on this one. Good job.
  3. Hey question while this is on top of the forum. What kind of body filler are you using? I have a project idea and I want to use that same filler. Anyone?
  4. I'll take a shot and put it up Albie. Haha thanks Bob, I wish it was real.
  5. Now that I look at it more, I think I would like smaller as well. Maybe 20 and 22? It's Testors wet look clear. It's a one coat can but the way you paint, you have to be really really careful with this stuff. I actually ruined the first one, went out and bought a second kit just for a new body and hood. My fiance was really happy about that. I sprayed it on a little thicker than normal on the first coat and it bubbled like soda. It was awful. I tried to buff it out but it just ended up eating through the paint from the pressure I had to apply.
  6. Thanks again guys, I appreciate the feedback! Ryan, this is the Revell 2 in 1 kit special edition. It does actually go through the firewall but with black around those areas and drawing the attention away from the hinges with lots of detail...it doesn't look too bad. Just make sure everything behind those holes is black as well. I suppose you could fill the gaps through the firewall and fabricate some hinges of your own. I wouldn't be opposed to trying it.
  7. Duane, I used a little bottle of model masters chrome silver paint. The stuff is a life saver when you clip off chrome parts from the sprues. I just lined the trunk cut with that paint carefully and it came out good. Bare Metal Foil would have been a little hard to cut and I could see my hand slipping and writing a line in the bumper.
  8. Ya Harry I've been thinking about removing them and taking the spacer down to give it a little clearance.
  9. Thanks for all the kind words guys! I really enjoy this community here. Dr. Cranky reminded me that I did indeed "shave off" all the emblems and logos. I also filled the front two holes where the chrome trim goes and I kept the door handles and the one mirror.
  10. Was it photographed on the following monday or did it sit for awhile? It's an amazing paint and clear job. Did you stick it in a dehydrator?
  11. They both look really great. I'm partial to the color on the Nissan. I've always liked that light blue.
  12. I think it looks amazing. I think you build really clean and I think your details are great. I'm just like you with learning new things and seeing things differently once I'm done and pictures are posted. Great work on this, I'd be proud to display it.
  13. Hey guys, this is my fourth one this year. I'm working on them in my spare time and just finished my 62 Impala. This one has two tone Mica Red and Metallic Black with Wet Clear. 23 inch split spoke wheels and disc brakes. I put a larger master cylinder in to compensate for the disc brake conversion. The interior is tan and black, pretty stock. Trunk cut open and I put an air tank with a battery and lines in it. There is also lines under the car running to each "Airbag" which was a few pencil erasers and some clever shaping. The motor is the 409 race version with chrome headers and the chrome air cleaner. There are a few minor flaws with it, but I'm happy with it overall. I was worried about the wheels being too large but I think it fits nice. What do you think? Comments and criticism are always welcome!
  14. I really like this one. It wasn't meant to be anything other than a test to see how the shadow would fall on white. I feel like it makes the model look realistic...but at the same time you know it's a model car.
  15. I think it's great looking. I agree with your opinion about the stance. With those large wheels, it should be "tucking" just a bit. Great build none the less.
  16. Rich, your stuff is always amazing, love your paint and every little special detail. I look to your posts to compare mine and see what I need to do better. I debated on whether or not to point out this one critique...but...I can't seem to ignore the BMF lines on the windshield visor. Is that just a optical illusion? I know it would be a pretty large piece of BMF to cover that but that's LITERALLY the only criticism.
  17. Pretty slick man, I like the paint a lot.
  18. Dude, that thing is nice! I like the paint!
  19. That's super sick, love the engine details and it looks just like the 1:1. Anyone know where I can get a fuel cell like that in the front?
  20. Ha thanks outlaw, I was really tired when I posted. 5 window is on the bench!
  21. Hey guys, I'm glad the forum is back. I just finished this third build and got a little impatient with it. It's not my best work but I'm happy with it. I apologize for the picture quality. Let me know what you think!
  22. I like it! I think its pretty sweet! I really like what you did with the rubber on the tires...maybe photograph it on a flat dirt surface, it will help accentuate the details you have given the lower half of the model. Overall I think it's great.
  23. I think its pretty interesting. I have that same hemi motor in a project right now. Overall it looks pretty good...there are a few things I would touch up before taking close photos but overall its pretty cool.
  24. This is great work...really awesome. The brackets on the alternator and the other pump...are those photo etched parts?
