  1. Could make it as some Pro-Street version, like Amt did with their OBS
  2. With that separate lower engine insert I wonder if a non-Bond version is in the stars.
  3. As the KAT's try to maximize the return on investment, would it be too far-fetched to think they would look into tooling up a new cab, to use it with the previous generation refrigerator-style bed? Are the chassis between both gen trucks similar? Cheers Photo from Dave Van's post
  4. I had the Roscoe police cruiser in an AIrfix wrapper.
  5. Haven't got a clue, on percentages of domestic vs international sales of any category plastic model kits, would be nice tho, if one could peek at the figures. One thing I do know; was looking at some leftover parts trees from a six-wheeler F-1 racer tooled in 1977 and thought, that's nice!
  6. Somewhere I've read that their sales are 50% domestic 50% international, but don't know the breakdown plastic vs. RC. Also IIRC the past Amercan subject matter like the Jeeps and Mustangs came thru the German distributor, not the American. So rather agree with Mark B. But who knows... never say never, remember the Chevy Astro Van's from Aoshima.
  7. Forgot all about this version, but not a fan of this era Revell Venice kits.
  8. The problem with the Revell wrecker body is that it's made to fit a short WB truck, where the RR axle on a real tow truck is much farther back, and then I'm not talking about the custom wheel set-up.
  9. On the other hand tho, Round-2 and Revell past and present have whole slew of pickup truck kits, which many of us have sitting in (or on order for) the stash wondering what to do with it, and that's what sparked my idea 😉
  10. That's Indeed something we don't know, and something I'm sure they will take into account if they consider or research feasibllity of the idea.
  11. I know, that's why I mentioned including wheels and axels.
  12. It would be pretty neat if Moebius could be convinced to release a kit containing both the wrecker and utility beds with H/D wheels and axels. Anyone here who has a direct line to them or Dave Burket? Cheers Luc
  13. Think the only thing they could use is, the data of the skin of the body, all the rest has to be done from scratch. With scanning a vintage kit however, they have all the parts and know they can be tooled as is, as they were designed to be ejected from a molding machine. Just my 2 cents.
  14. Surprised no one posted this yet.... HPIGuys builds a test shot of the upcoming Revell '22 Corvette C8 kit.
  15. Maybe as a convertible first then, to set it apart from the old tool.
  16. Although I have two annuals, I would love an all-new cloned with improvements Bonnie, both in hard-as ragtop, but then there is still the Hasegawa thingy, which can be re-popped any time, tho it never will have to cool sixties spy/secret agent goodies the original Mpc kit had.
  17. Love the set-up Tim, it just looks right. anyway is there a source for these wheels in scale, kit or aftermarket? Cheers! Luc
  18. Round-2 doesn't need Jo-Han because they have a back catalog that will keep them busy for a long time. The bottom line here is that technology-wise it's possible to clone with improvements former Jo-Han designs, and if there's ROI and funding a lot is possible, money talks bullshit walks.
  19. Just wondering; when using the underpinnings of the newly designed Coronet, isn't half of the work done to create a "new" Charger kit while using the mpc annual as a template for the specific to the Charger parts? Big question however will be, is there still ROI with their Snap kit and the Revell's Chargers just waiting to put into production again?
  20. The Racing Champions release was interesting, the GMC grille/bumper was chromed, just needed some stock wheels IIRC, tho the original amt wheels were included too, as was the original Chevy grille. Along the way when Round2 took possession of the tooling the Kats backdated the tool back to post-opening-hood early '70's Chevy Van.
  21. IIRC the folks at Round-2 wanted to re-release the A-Team Van when the movie was released, but didn't due to exorbitant licensing fees. Anyone's guess how greedy the Tinseltown movie licensors will be this time, and if it's worth the effort on Round 2's part.
  22. Well....if it's possible to scan an old kit, or parts thereof, it's also possible to scan pieces which are created or were modified by a creative modeler, just as the tooling model craftsmen, carved from wood back in the day. So just for argument's sake, a guy takes an annual Jo-Han '70 GTX, mates it with the underpinnings of an Ertl designed late sixties B-Body and modifies the interior, then scans all the parts, refines it some more in the 3D program, test prints the outcome and if ok, sends the file to China to tool. The technology is there and in part being used by the aftermarket, only thus far the big hurdle is, tooling dollars, the fear of losing your shirt if the ROI isn't there. This is what separates the men from the boys Just my 2 cents and as always open for input. Cheers Luc
