  1. Man, that is awesome. Looks like the real thing. Your Galaxie 500 is pretty sweet too.
  2. Really clean work. Looks nice from every angle. Those scripts on the hood, trunk, and front fenders are flawless.
  3. Nice color combo, especially for a convertible. Is that the engine that came with the kit? I've never seen that particular intake set up on a Chevy engine before other than the cross ram on the Revell '69 Camaro. Looks cool.
  4. Elementary school teachers driving Mopars with bumblebee stripes and hood scoops - those were the days... Nice clean build of a real cool car. Well done.
  5. It all comes together very nicely. How are those tires in the snow??
  6. That first pic is stunning. I'm assuming you did the vinyl top too. What is your preferred method to do that? It looks perfect.
  7. Disregard. Just saw your answer to Pack Rat.
  8. What were the problems with the BMF? It all looks pretty good to me...
  9. That white top looks killer with the blue body color. Well done.
  10. It all comes together beautifully. Little details everywhere. Very clean and nice. Well done.
  11. Looking at these pics, I feel like I'm looking at real cars and not models. Doesn't get any better than that. Very nicely done, both on the builds and the settings.
  12. You got it done. Another cool build on the shelf. What's not to like? As Snake would say: "Well done and model on!"
  13. Your builds are always beautiful and this is no exception. Very clean and nice.
  14. I can relate to your frustration on a tough build, but the end result looks great. That's a challenging paint job to say the least. Congrats on a successful outcome.
  15. x2. That first photo looks like a vintage Chevrolet ad with a picture of the real thing. Very well done.

The floor pan is Model Car World "red oxide primer" shot through the airbrush. Although probably not accurate from the factory, I wanted to take advantage of the fact that the frame was a separate piece to add some visual contrast underneath rather than having everything black.
  17. Yep. Imaging that baby going down the famous "loop de loop" track. Very cool.

The kit did come with red wheel decals, but unfortunately, that was one area where things DID go off the rails. I wound up applying some of the red interior paint to the wheels with a microbrush. Probably would never have known to do that were it not for the kit decals. The battery was molded in as part of that engine bay sidewall. Would a 6 volt have fewer caps?

Revell Europe 1953 Corvette. I thought it was a pretty challenging little kit. Gluing the glass into the frame, painting the dash top which was molded as part of the body, fitting the headlights into the body shell, and getting everything to line up because the chassis frame was warped were just a few of the areas where things almost went off the rails. So I'm glad that it came out looking as nice as it does. I'm especially pleased with the dash decals and the engine carbs. The kit decals are very nice and they eventually settled with some coaxing from Solvaset. Really makes that white dash pop, especially on a convertible. The carbs were a single chrome piece which I stripped and painted in the more proper silver, gold, and engine blue colors. One of those happy moments where I wasn't sure how it would go and the part came out looking great which gives a much more correct look to the engine. Exterior Paint: Several coats of Tamiya fine white surface primer followed by several coats of Tamiya TS-26 Pure White followed by a couple coats of Tamiya TS-7 Racing White. Cleared with Tamiya TS-13 followed by the usual wet sanding and polishing. Interior Paint: Tamiya TS-8 Italian Red decanted and shot through the airbrush. Here she is. Thanks for looking. And for when it gets chilly, you can always put the top up...
  20. Nice save on the GTO. Always satisfying to see a build with "issues" make it through to a good looking conclusion.
  21. Very clean work and a really nice color combination. Nicely done.
  22. Sweet. White vinyl roof looks great with the white interior and side stripe.
