Great photos, Tim! Thanks for the link.

    Randy,

The contest is on Saturday, and you must leave the models there overnight (they're protected). The contest people will give you a free pass to get in on Sunday to pick up your models (and hopefully awards!).

    Randy,

Your posts were a pleasant surprise; I'm glad you and your sons enjoyed the show as much as we did! Don't forget there's a model contest coming up at Back to the 50's next week. Our Club (RPM) is helping promote the show with support from MSRA. Hopefully it will be a success!

    Steve,

I just saw your post about the decals. They are still available, you can order them through Model Empire in Wisconsin. We always stop there when our club goes to the NNL Milwaukee and the store carries Fred's entire line:

    Steve,

Nicely done! Always love seeing your models. Keep up the great work!
Would love to see a 'how to' on building the hauler.

    Mike,

No, Gene had a sister car to the Rambunctious Charger that Jake drove. He also drove another Snow Charger before the Revell cars came about. Slixx did the 'flame' Charger as well as what is referred to as the 'ram-horn' car.

    Thanks,

    Chris,

I love the overall impact of your model; looks very cool! Now I have a use for that parts pack body! Thanks for sharing the model and the photos.

    Ken,

The Flying Dutchman was a 'stock' looking Charger body, not the 'mini'. From what I've been told, the Mini-Charger wasn't legal for NHRA competition in '69, but was allowed in 1970. There was a second Gene Snow mini-Charger raced by Jake Johnston. Also I believe there were some raced in UDRA, but they would be pretty obscure. I'm happy to see Round 2 reissue the 'Cuda and '69 Mustang. We were trying to get Polar Lights to do a '69 Nova or '70 Camaro (Jungle Jim cars); maybe someday?

    Thanks,

    Ken,

There was a second version of the Hawaiian Mini Charger; I sent some images to Slixx, we'll see if they can do it. There's a pretty good photo here:

    Chuck,

Yours is painted, mine isn't yet. Hopefully this weekend. Unfortunately, life gets in the way! I have the chassis done and engine just needs to be wired. As for the body, I just redid the wheel wells. Yours looks closer to the original. What did you use for paint?

    Thanks,

    Jim

Nice work Chuck as always! Looks like you're ahead of me. Gotta get cranking tonight.

    Ben,

The tires are from the kit, wheels from the Johan Mustang funny car. I thought it should be opened up since this was a unique feature on the car. I plan on making up a piano style hinge for it. I still need to make a lip around the opening and thin out the hatch.

    Thanks,

    Jim
