f1ford48 replied to f1ford48's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Thanks.... Scott....I started with a 1/8 scale Revell /Monogram 32 FORD highboy hot rod. the rest is kit bashed and scratch built. I finally got the body painted right- so should have some updates soon................the body is resin cast available on e bay at times. ............................. -
excellent work on the brake shoes and backing plates-the small details really add up
-
super build of a mediocre kit-it looks just right the way it is -did you ever see the ''BUMERC''- a Buick powered Mercedes ssk that Briggs Cunningham built and raced back in the 50s. heres a pic. also liked the way you changed the hood ornament from the excalibur to a gun sight!!!

STOCK 1932 FORD STANDARD 5 WINDOW COUPE 1/8 SCALE
f1ford48 replied to f1ford48's topic in WIP: Model Cars
thanks guys for the nice words. should have more pics up soon.... the resin body has been a major pain- first with the fish eye in the primer and now with the paint that I had to strip in parts. I just remembered its supposed to look like a car that has been on the road for 20 years so maybe i'm being too picky about the finish...... -
garage diorama fully detailed and fully scratch build ...
f1ford48 replied to crazyrichard's topic in WIP: Dioramas
this is just SUPERB- best shop diorama I have seen in a long time especially the floors -they are such an important part and yours look ''spot on''-pun intended -
great patina-especially the hood ornament gold part..I like the seat stuffing coming out as well

I like the home made grill- seen those before nice weathering job too. that dent in the roof looks like it would hold a gallon of water.

OUTRAGEOUS Killer paint job!!!!!

I have spent some time ''Toning down'' wipers- first of all they are never chrome plated and always stainless on this period car.[the stainless takes on a dull look naturally] one could strip the chrome and paint them a medium grey. however they still may be too thick. you could get away using the blades and scratch build the arms. since the model is done I would just put them in a more parked position and be done with it- FABULOUS BUILD ANYWAY.....

nice work-looks just like they did way back when...

Amazing- I don't recall seeing this before, it is certainly Museum quality. Harry had an incredible eye for authenticity.

Man -that is SHARP Amazing attention to detail- the stripe is super crisp. the interior looks real and the engine bay as does the under chassis. my only critique is the wipers- they need the rubber blades painted and to be positioned better. besides that it looks real!!!

STOCK 1932 FORD STANDARD 5 WINDOW COUPE 1/8 SCALE
f1ford48 replied to f1ford48's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Scratch built some interior door hardware and panels today. the doors are not going to open so the detail is good enough for a peek inside the window...... -
Raymond Lowey would be proud!!!!!! very sharp build
