  1. It's not hard if you can find the decals 1 (73) by Eric Lucas, on Flickr
  2. Looks amazing. Gotta start mine soon. Been working on the Chevelle, but work has been keeping me from getting much of anything done.
  3. Oh, almost forgot; there is also a fit issue with the dash. The directions show it fitting in like most models, with the dash sitting in a certain position on the door frames. However, the reality is, there is no slot for it. If it sits on the frames, then it is too high when putting it in and the dash is knocked around. If you try to put it between the frames, then it sinks a little and messes with the frames. The latter is what I had to end up doing, so the dash is actually sunken in a bit from where it should be since there was no notch in the frames to place it. The dash just slid down after it was put in. Best I could do though. The directions start off great, but go full blown retard after a few pages, having you do multiple things. It also gets vague on how things are supposed to fit. The fit issues are what makes it a frustrating model to build. It was a great kit I would recommend up until that point. I literally had to cut chunks of the frame out to put the grill piece on. It extends up under the nose of the car so you can have the radiator/fans (which you can't see, so what's the point?), but the frame drops down too far and interferes with the grill placement.
  4. This was a pretty good kit. Minor fit issue with the grill, the radiator housing gets in the way of putting the grill piece on. There is also a fit issue with the wheel base. The model itself is painted Guards Red. 5. Started it months ago, but never got the chance to post it. Came out OK, but spilt some black paint on the grill, so i just went ahead and made the grill all black after one I saw online. 6. Could always try eBay. I was in Hobby Lobby today for paint and didn't see it when looking at their selection of models.
  7. Just finished mine. Would have posted it, but it just keeps raining here in Myrtle. Word of advice, take the grill back off. I know it says to put it on before the chassis, but don't. It's a fit issue. You may have an issue with the wheel base as well, and an issue with the dash fit. Those were the only real issues I had with the kit. It was a real pain getting the dash right and getting the grill back on once the chassis is put in. The housing for the radiator and fans makes it to where the grill won't fit.
  8. Yeah, all the flooding was literally a couple miles down the road from me. The boats to Columbus County were using my road to put in since it leads to the river. Had three days no power, with nothing to do. Then we had a month or so of rain. Then I had to work a lot. Didn't have time to take pictures and then upload them. My days off were spent taking care of things.
  9. Love the plane. Got one myself I'm waiting to build when I get a bigger place.
  10. Kinda ran out of materials in the making. It was a quick build back during the hurricane. Got the kit cheap just before the storm and built it while I had nothing better to do. There's a few things on it I'd like to go back and take care of like the grill and some paint issues but, for now it works for my collection.
  11. Finished it a couple months ago but, due to a lot of bad weather, never got a chance to post it. SAM_0363 by Eric Lucas, on Flickr SAM_0364 by Eric Lucas, on Flickr SAM_0366 by Eric Lucas, on Flickr
  12. It is. One of the reasons I like to use it.
  13. I like it. You did an amazing job. I think the kit I would love to get my hands on would be a Royal Lancer. That is my favorite of the behemoth 50's cars.
  14. Decided to do a base hood version of the Cuda. Blue Angels Yellow paint. SAM_0355 by Eric Lucas, on Flickr SAM_0360 by Eric Lucas, on Flickr SAM_0367 by Eric Lucas, on Flickr SAM_0368 by Eric Lucas, on Flickr
  15. That somehow makes that version of a T-bird look cool. Good job on it. I really like it.
  16. Yeah, I did find a regular Revell Jag convertible for pretty cheap. Ran into the same problem you did. I hated the frame for the engine and hood, not to mention the horrid directions.
  17. I like it. I did mine as a hot rodded woody.
  18. I like it. I saw this kit not long ago, and wanted to get it. Though, not at the price most people want for it. They're a beautiful car. Got to see one in Charleston not too long ago.
  19. These weren't bad kits. The hard top looks a lot better than the convertible. The vert has a slightly curved body and a slightly sloping hood. Doesn't quite look right.
  20. Looks good except for the top. I'd shop around and see if you could find a better fitting one. Maybe from the Chevelle kit or 72 Olds kit.
