  1. Hi Dennis, The April 2015 issue of SA features an article showing how Steve Boutte customized & detailed the '50 Oldsmobile interior, not sure if it is available online except through their app. regards Marty
  2. It looks like this is now available Regards Marty
  3. You could be right there, I just find these early kits and what was included very interesting. I think at the time when these kits were released there was a great link between scale model builders and future full size builders or collectors. This appears to have gone in both directions with inspiration to models and 1:1 cars and vice versus. Regards Marty
  4. I am wondering if this is again, art mimicking real life again or vice versus, I think the tail lights and side scoops are pretty close to what’s in the AMT 1958 Chevrolet
  5. You are right, the 1957 Chevrolet had grilles in the headlight bezels that supplied the interior ventilation. The cowl grille reappeared on the 1958 Chevrolet
  6. Looking at what was manufactured and what could have been, I am glad that sense and restraint kicks in at times
  7. Always nice to see another piece of history coming back. I enjoy reading these articles and can appreciate the time and effort of all parties involved in the research and reconstruction of the car to a specific time period.
  8. Ah YouTube (I want my 30932 hours back please), but there are some great dealer videos appearing and i could lose more hours in that “Rabbit Hole” A nice colour one And a couple of more dealer promo’s Its great seeing these videos coming to light, although a shame that the quality isn’t better. regards Marty
  9. Hi Tom, i would love to come over again (last visited in 2000). However until I can get across, i can enjoy the pictures you have loaded up. Oh great, more time wasted looking at great pictures on the internet and not building models ??
  10. One more to add, similar to this 1:1 1958 Chevrolet owned by Dave Robertson. I think if anything, it was inspiration and not a direct copy.
  11. Hi JollySlipper, the custom parts are unchanged except for the Carson Roof (Turned into a half roof) and loss of the chopped Victoria roof, fins, skirts and a rear custom moulding.
  12. More food for thought, maybe this provided inspiration for the AMT 1950 Ford front end.
  13. Hi Casey, After re-reading the article, you are right and I would like to believe he was a model builder and the kit provided inspiration when he built the car. On a lighter note, since when do we let facts get in the way of a good story? ?
