  1. I just got home an hour ago from a week long business trip and my kit was delivered today. 9 days from when I placed my order to it being in my mailbox, which is very impressive considering that includes shipping from central Nebraska to Charlotte ! I will post pictures tomorrow, worn out from the week, but my first glance at it and it looks beautiful.
  2. I have that bed and it is beautiful! All of Kris's stuff is top notch. I will have to find it tomorrow and post a picture of it.
  3. The 65 GTO and pickup might find their way home at some point. I think I still have a couple of the old SS454 kits along with a couple of promos, but that 65 GTO has been a long time coming and definitely on my list.
  4. Here's my daily driver. Had pickups from the age of 18-32, sold my last one when baby #2 was on the way and a standard cab pickup wouldn't haul us all. It's a 2022 Tacoma SR5, nicely equipped and will likely take me well into retirement since I have worked from home and only put 7500 miles on it in 15 months. It's due for a full detail and ceramic coating as soon as the pollen season is over I have the 2-3 days to spend prepping and completing the job.
  5. Yes. I believe that Testors ModelMaster had a GM engine blue color, don't think its still available but it was close to a light blue color. In their small enamel bottle line (1/4 oz jars) they have three blues that are close: 1108 Gloss Light Blue 1162 Flat Sky Blue 1110 Gloss Blue
  6. He was at the ACME show in Atlanta last November selling JoHan stuff, minus the AMX. Otey is trying to keep the JoHan brand alive.
  7. Knowing that Trailer Trash is shut down, that is why I suggested someone else take on the designing and selling of the hood and grille conversion. A 4wd conversion would be nice too.
  8. Ordered mine last night, anxious to see it when it arrives.
  9. When GM redesigned the pickups, they differentiated the HD from the light duty pickups, similar to what Ford did, by using different grilles and hoods. I have several of those 96 Dually kits and promos but would like to replicate the 99-2002 2500HD/3500 series grille and hood. Not sure how many others are interested in that same hood and grille combo, thought I would throw it out there to gauge interest.
  10. Modelhaus Tires has several sets to choose from.
  11. Depending on what you want for the kits, there are several options; 1. Local model car show/swap meet- I know there is at least one in the Minneapolis area every summer. Best place to sell as you have a captive market and if you are serious about selling, this is the place to get a fair dollar and limited expense. 2. Places like Fred's Model World and Dean's Hobby Stop buy collections (there's probably more) and while they don't pay top dollar, they typically will buy the whole lot and it makes for a clean transaction. And by saying they don't pay top dollar, I mean that they are a business and have to have some margin to re-sell it. 3. Local automotive swap meets- might not do as well as a model car swap meet, but still a good audience for your stuff. 4. Look at neighboring states to see if they have a model car show coming up. Yeah it's a drive but if the time works out, you could make a mini-vacation out of it. 5. eBay- Only if you want to spend the time monitoring the auctions and managing the fees and expense of doing so. It's a worldwide marketplace but with it comes a lot of work if you have a large stash to sell and you do it one model at a time. 6. Local model car club- they might be able to help you if they have meetings where they have sell and swap dates. Make a list of what you have and do some research on the value of your collection. Old kits aren't necessarily valuable, especially if they have been re-issued many times. Conversely, some newer kits can be quite valuable if they were limited runs or unique subjects.
  12. How dare you! Hope you got to relax and recharge the battery Kris!
  13. According to GM Parts Direct, it is the same fender for the 1500 and 2500 HD. That picture might give off the illusion that they are different. As I pointed out, the grille, the hood and the filler panel below the grille are unique to the 2500 HD & 3500 HD models. I made a poor attempt at replicating the hood and scrapped it.
  14. 1500 on the left, 2500HD on the right. The grille is slightly different in that the center bar is bigger/flatter. The hood has a raised section at the front. The filler panel below the grille is different too.
  15. Now that the Revell 99 Chevy Silverado kit is out, any chance of getting the 2500/3500 HD grille and hood made either in resin or 3D? It would be cool to have that as an option.
  16. You can reach Kris here on the forum (Kris Morgan). Scott is correct, he has many items that are not in the catalog (he's a busy one man operation) so send him a PM here and he will get back to you. Kris is a great guy and offers great stuff, I have several of his Chevy conversion kits as well as one of the Ford Long Beds.
  17. Buy one and build it, then you will know. This kit never came in 4wd configuration but if someone wanted to, they could adapt the Escalade drivetrain to one and have a 4wd. If someone did the HD grille and hood I could replicate the truck I had years ago.
  18. Having watched this build up over the years, all I am left to say is WOW. Congrats on getting it finished and incredible detailing and realism.
  19. There's a show on May 20th in Simpsonville SC, great show and lots of models and a decent swap meet area too.
  20. The resin wheels more closely resemble those on the truck, the Rat Roaster wheels look to be slightly different but usable and likely easier to find and as Ace pointed out, you get a model kit to boot!
  21. Have a look at these. I have other stuff from this vendor and it's really nice. https://www.ebay.com/itm/325469753828?hash=item4bc78251e4:g:h0YAAOSwDshjoQPm&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAsPYAx%2BI4b6lVTp4a80vLk5kcSgXP3O2wn28r2b0kmdhF%2BRIPX14X8CIwlSi6i%2Fgxuu1qDMd8r2Opfkt4Kb5FnjZHN1JQV1iQhp5QTwamlaL%2BWQjqCI5eDjLQ3CAi%2B8K2JmlefIuBbG%2BQDg1u%2FH1hY%2FvvtAqLhs7Tk7Nr7AuCz2sLiP1RvyCVy5wxlrrmD%2FbvaAtFdia%2BPQflNHBrQzQdTUHa9cdS2vugSWa3jnsFdth3|tkp%3ABk9SR6CQ0JnYYQ Another option would be recent re-issue of the Rat Roaster that has similar wheels.
  22. While I used to think that way, now that I no longer have a LHS I am forced to shop online. The closest hobby shop to me is 45 miles away and it being a HobbyTownUSA that caters to the R/C crowd, I am better off buying online if I want something not at Hobby Lobby.
  23. I might be a buyer for the 60 Ford Pickup, I will pass on the others. Thanks for sharing.
  24. Nothing that I am aware of. I doubt any of the Wrangler stuff would fit, totally different engineered kit.
