Ford Explorer model
PapaSquat73 replied to PapaSquat73's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thanks for the replies. I had a feeling there was nothing made. -
I hope this is the right section for this...if not, could a mod please move it? Thanks! The wife and I currently own a 2002 Ford Explorer, and as a surprise, I wanted to build her a model of it. I believe I've seen the previous generation Explorer (1995-2001) in model form, and was wondering if they even make/made a kit for my year? I've searched Google and haven't been able to come up with anything. Thanks in advance for the help!

That color is AMAZING! Great looking build. -
Wow Dale, that looks AMAZING! I too am coming out of a looooooonnnnngggggg break from modeling (between 15-20 years, I think). There are so many things I need to learn/brush up on, but that's why I'm here!

Okay Wayne, after seeing your work I'm gettin a bit nervous about this friendly competition. lol The body and frame look amazing! I'm also loving what you did with the interior so far. I almost spit my water on my computer when I saw that picture of texture paint!! I have a can, almost the same colors, that I was trying to see if I could work in somehow. Great job so far!

Agent G, I don't know if I should be honored or scared! My first build post on here and I'm asked to do a build-off. Well, there's only one way to improve my skills...right? What can it hurt!

Great looking build. Love the color!!

Wow, looks like I picked a hot model to build here. lol Agent G, I'm always up for some friendly competition! I'm working on her now, so I should have some more pics later on. DavidG, I am like 90% sure that fenderless is the way I'm heading towards. I think the look of the exposed wheels on the Deuce is just perfect! Thanks again everyone. More to come...very soon!

Thank you everyone. I'm doing more work on her now, so I'll get more pics up soon. kmjmusic - The silver on the inside of the rims is actually Testors aluminum. It came out better than I thought. cobraman - I've been using it for a long time. People get a good chuckle from it. lol oldschool - I was actually going to try that tomorrow with the tires. I have an old set from another model I'm going to practice on. bpletcher55 - I've been looking for an excuse to start again, and being out of work with a bad ACL is the perfect time I guess. More to come...very soon!

Evening all! After looking at everyone's AMAZING skills in the forum, I decided to break out my models and see how much I need to learn. (I can only improve, right? lol) The one I decided to take on was my '32 3-Window. So far, I've primed a few of the major pieces, and I'm still in the process of mocking-up and test fitting some others. Here are a few pics of where she sits so far. Again, it's still in rough state, and I have NO idea on color, or if I'm going to run it with or without the fenders. Any and all comments are more than welcome! Hope you enjoy. (Passenger side - body on w/ engine mock up) (Wheel detail) (Engine - different angle) (Front & rear wheels)

I have the SAME model...but I haven't started it yet. lol I'm really interested in seeing how yours turns out! Looks great so far.

At first glance I thought you took pics in black and white, until I noticed the little hints of color on the plate and the engine. lol VERY clean build. -
That is a super clean build! Are they using the black/white theme there? I remember YEARS ago when I lived there, the cars were white with the reflective silver stripe on the side. lol

Hi everyone, my name is Matthew. I decided to pick up modeling again recently. I used to build models about 20+ years ago, and decided that now would be a good time to get back into it. I wouldn't consider myself a beginner, but at the same time I am no pro either. Just from browsing the forums I can see there are a LOT of amazing artists on here, and I would love to try to get up to that level! I hope to have a few in-progress pics to post over the next few days. I welcome any comments! Thanks!
