This is great stuff. Keep it coming.

Got it. Thanks. Then there is something wrong in this wrecker. Can you see what it is?
-
So the chains will rub against the towed truck bumper, but not the lifting cable, right?
-
Thank you guys. The kit does not show the chains so with these pictures it gives me a better idea of how it works now. Thanks for the link and photos Terry and the picture Tim.
This kit brings me memories too. That's why I bought it. My best friend from when we were teenagers had it while I had a Mack Cruiseliner. We would work on these kits together.
Hey Todd, why don't you post some photos of your trucks?
-
I've been trying to figure out how this type of tow truck can hook up another truck behind.

The wife.

Something really different.

Love the red truck. Why truck kit manufacturers like AMT or Revell don't make those wheels as shown on the red Pete? Or do they? I've never seen them. I got a set of the two hole wheels but in Resin. But I'm not a fan of resin parts.

Thank You Tim. Hey, I have had your website on my Favorites for a long time. Go there all the time for reference or just to look at your models. That's where I learned of the Winslow name. You are a real Pro Builder. I admire your trucks very much.

That black paint job is beautiful. I can not paint black myself. Every time I paint gloss black I mess it up bad. I get bubbles all the time. Now I paint Flat black and then a few coats of High gloss Clear. You beat the Franklin Mint.
-
Ok. Paint the white, then one coat of clear, then when it cures put on masking tape. After that I'll work with the black. Thank You guys!
-
But the section where I posted this says,"Model Building Questions and Answers".
-
How do I paint the two different colors on this truck? I'm planning to paint the white part first, then mask it off with masking tape and last paint the black part. How do I mask the white without peeling it off when I remove the masking tape?

Perfect photo Clayton, Thank you!!
-
Please post more pictures like those!! Love 'em.

I'm looking for picture references on the different color combinations on these type of stripes against a red background cab. Thanks!

so this is a clear coat? no hint of gray color?

I just bought a spray can of Model Master Metalizer No Buff Sealer (Testors 1459). Is there a special step or trick for this? Or can I just spray it on and that's it? And what they mean by "No Buff"?
-
Thank you guys! That answers my question. Back in 1979 or 1980 I did a kit that looked like a W900 and I'm trying to figure out if it was in fact a W900.
-
But I mean with the Aerodyne sleeper.
-
Was there a Kenworth W900 Aerodyne kit made in the 70s in any brand or any edition on this style?
-
It would be nice to have the real form but I've never seen them on the Bay or anywhere, unless you buy an old kit. I bought a 70s truck kit recently but did not include this form. I do remember I bought the Peterbilt poster on the bottom line. Wish I still had it.
-
Back in the 70s and 80s I remember that AMT truck kits included a form to order posters called, "Truck um up posters" or something like that. I have an image of the back of that form and I'm looking for the other side of this form. Anybody has that front part of this form that could post it here? Thank you very much.

This is a great kit to modify and learn new tricks. The box shown is this kit. This is my third one. It will be a single axle , day cab rig. I'm planning to paint the chassis red also but looking at these pictures, I'm beginning to like the white color. I even thought about a blue chassis. Not sure yet. I removed about 1 1/2 inches from the frame. The back of the cab is part of the sleeper made to fit and filled around with putty. Will get back with more pictures as I progress.
