  1. I used it on a tamiya Tyrell p34. It was my kyrlon experiment. Had no problems with it. Used kyrlon blue and white on it also. Only thing is I think it looks more like it's plastic than paint. If that makes since. I did use light coats to build up the primer.
  2. Just finished up this added Tamiya photo-etched set, it has aluminum exhaust tips, and metal antenna. Th I kit comes with glass molded into the body, so you can see a little white at the edge threw the glass. I added embossing powder to seat and steering wheel but think it dose not look right. The car is painted blue then everything else is decals. The wheels are alclad polished aluminum with Tamiya gold centers.
  3. Scalefinishes.com can make the color of he dosent have it listed. He also sell preval spray system so you can use his paints with out an airbrush. It is pretty much a load your self spray can.
  4. I agree Vallejo paints are great. I use their model color for brushing. Great self leveling. And just started using model air paints also. Had no durability issuies. I did my 1/16 Russian tank with model air colors, sealed with future than used enamel washes on it with no problems. No pull up with masking tape. You can go to their website and pull a chart to find what colors match other brands. Like if you need tamiya x-56 you can find their version. They make good washes too. I've heard good things about their primer but haven't tried it.
  5. Chuck it in a drill. You should be able to get the seam to push out a little, so you can concentrate your sanding on it. Had to do same thing on my 1/12 312t.
  6. The f1 cars have future on them, since the the wicked colors have a semi gloss finish. Model Master straight from bottle, with a little testors universal acrylic thinner to make it spray better. And all are primed with tamiya primer.
  7. These are all acrylic. Mercedes and Ferrari are Model Masters acrylic. The Honda and BMW are createx wicked colors
  8. Yah I don't do a lot of body mods. I'm more of a box build guy why some photo etch and decal add-ons. I just wanted more color options only reason for trying new paints. Will have to pick up some dupilcolor next time I go out. What brand should I look for to airbrush it instead of rattle can. And do I have to get it at a automotive paint store?
  9. Art you say use automotive lacquer primer. I ordered sf primer is that equal to it? Or do I need another kind. And if so what brand do you guys use? I hope sf primer is good after spending $75 plus on sf paint I don't want to have to throw a bunch of money on primer. I need to figure something out. And with automotive lacquer primer do I have to get reducer and hardner with it. I am dumb when it comes to automotive paints. I do have alclad primer anyone have knowledge on how good it is. I bought it on accident thinking it was their glosscoat for their chrome. I have used it on a tank but put acrylic over it. Also if I go automotive primer route can I spray tamiya rattle can over it. Just want to know for future use, since I have tons of it. And is the automotive primer safe on resin. Thanks for alll the help.
  10. Glad to see this new to kc so I've been looking for model shows around here. The hobby dose not seem to have a big presence here. Hobby Haven is great for supplies and military, but since I'm not into amt or revell they don't have a good selection for me. And hobby town is over priced. Can't find another shop.
  11. So in the future should I put more coats of primer on? I've never had this issue before. I have scalefinishes primer on the way also, and wonder if it would be better to use their primer with their paint.
  12. The funny thing is it doesn't have a rough texture to it. It's all smooth. In the pic the hood looks all grainy but it's smooth. Could I just respaint with a lower psi over this or do I need to strip it. I was worried it was the primer. I let the parts dry overnight before color coats. It dropped to the 30s overnight. I'm paint out in my work shed right now. And its not temp controlled, but was 70 when I sprayed primer.
  13. need some help. Started working on Fujimi's Aventador model. I bought some Scale Finishes Lambo blue for it. The paint looks all funny kind of like when plastic dose not blend togther during molding process. The body is molded in white. I started with 3 coats of Tamiya light Gray primer, then 4 coats of The lambo blue. the paint came out smooth, but look all wrong. It was around 60 degrees and 30% percent humidity when i sprayed it. I use 25 psi with my iwata airbrush. How can i fix it and stop it from happening again, do i need to send it to the purple pond and strip it. thanks for the help.
  14. I use liquid drain cleaner. Strips most chrome in less then 5 mins. No rubbing or scrubbing. Here's tamiya la ferrari wheels. In drain clearn about 1 min.
  15. Looking good, happy to see it went to a good home.
  16. What engine, they connect in different spots on different engines.
  17. I have a bunch of these. I think they're great I've been doing a bunch of remodeling and sometimes hobby things get moved around and can't get to it. So I break one these out to build something that dose not involve all the materials needed for regular kit. Plus it helps with getting familiar working with photo etched parts. You get a feel for bending and curving metal parts.
  18. I would agree that American cars get more love on here and I don't really do them either. But I have not felt unwelcome at all on here. I've posted cars, ships, helicopters, bikes, and military. Sure a Shelby will get more comments, but who cares I build for me not them. I just hope to learn from others when they see a mistake. Hopefully I can help someone too. Also if someone is blunt about a mistake (Harry) then I helps push me to do better. I have been part of a few forums and like this the most. If you don't sorry about your luck, f what you're going threw.
  19. Did you check bnl resins they have pulling truck parts.
