  1. Looking good! For the hood you could look for a Revell Firebird Formula Convertible kit.
  2. A lot of nice guitars here...I really dig the 1982 Yamaha SBG1200! Here's my current main guitar rig...its flexible, powerful and most important...easy to carry!!
  3. Decatur here... Are there any hobby shops that sell models in central Illinois besides Hobby Lobby?
  4. I ordered some of Fireball Modelwork's Quadrajets a while back and finally got around to painting and installing one on a 70's Pontiac 400 I am building. ..all I can say is WOW! My pics don't do them justice...Joseph's work is amazing.
  5. Looking cool...I have been wanting to buy this kit because of the music theme. My first suggestion is to make the guitars different colors...you hardly ever see matching instruments on stage. It looks like they are both guitar players.. you should designate the fu-manchu guy as the bass player and make his outfit a bit more odd/radical than the guitarist. The singer would be hot as a redhead in a green dress..a blonde in a black dress would be cool too. Does she have a microphone? if not you should make one.. Some 60s style Vox or Marshall amps would look good behind them too.
  6. I have been getting these parts packs from Hobby Lobby as well for $7.99. Two weeks ago I bought the Gasser Wheels & tires for $9.99. I'm not sure why they are so cheap compared to everywhere else..you would think online sources would be cheaper than a retail store.. I really like the Parts Packs though and I'm glad they are bringing them back and more. Keep 'em coming Round 2!
  7. Cool car! ..love the Formulas. Great job so far! I like this Bandit kit a lot, the interior is accurate for the custom trim pkg and it actually has an A/C compressor. The engine is not so great though...doesn't look anything like a Pontiac V8.
  8. I gotta agree with Scott.. I am a HUGE Pontiac and 2nd Gen Firebird fan...so I shouldn't complain about a new Pontiac kit..but ANOTHER release of a 1979 Trans Am is only yawn inspiring. The Formulas are just as awesome, if not more, and haven't really been seen since the annual MPC releases of the 70's. How about someone do a 1973-74 SD455 car?!?! ...Formula or Trans Am! Its ONLY one of the greatest musclecars ever made..
  9. The AMT kit that Kris mentioned is probably your best choice. It is the 1989 20th Anniversary Trans Am with a Turbo 3.8, kit #6932. Here are a few pics of it
  10. I had to do some research on this car since I had never heard about it.. and found these pics of Ed Newton's drawings for this car. I understand the barrel scoop now and like how you combined the two designs with a few new things. Excellent!
  11. Definitely looks 100% better! Is the AMT 1972 GTO from 2004 this same kit, with the same problem?
  12. Awesome! I love the headlight tuners and how the strings run front to back. Not sure about the barrel scoop though.. Reminds me a bit of Jay Ohrberg's Git-Tar Car. There needs to be more guitar cars!
  13. What is brown and sounds like a bell? DUNG!!! (Monty Python)
  14. Hey friends, This is my first WIP here and the first model I've built in 15 years. Feel free to offer advice..I need it! My kids got this AMT Ecto-1a kit for me on Fathers Day. I have started on it and been slowly doing things here and there, but now I really want to get this thing done in time for Halloween! My workbench is not much to speak of...a desk..Testors paints..most supplies are from Hobby Lobby. The chassis is pretty much done...not sure why the flat black Testors paint dried with semi-glossy spots. I thought that I had mixed it well..any thoughts? ..next time I will probably spray the chassis instead of brush painting. paint issue Some front end detail.. Interior just started Top Rack. I have decided to make this more like the ECTO-1 from the first movie. I'm not too worried about being exact, just getting it close and working with the kit.. This kit has more flash than I would like to deal with...especially on the Chrome tree.. But overall a decent kit. The only real problem is this tire..one side is bigger than the other..So I'm going to put it to the inside.
  15. Very cool! Ive been starting to get into these crazy looking street rod kits.
  16. In this week... I've been eyeing up this MPC Monkeemobile in the clearance section at my local Hobby Lobby for a few weeks..well they just put it on double clearance for $7.91! .. so I had to grab it! Also received this still sealed Revell Formula Firebird from 1980. It looks to be a variation of the Revell Travolta Firebird Fever/Firebird Street Machine kits with the IMSA style flared fenders but has a 1977-78ish custom nose, Formula hood and a stock style rear spoiler. The parts sound REALLY loose inside this box, so I'm afraid of what I'll find when I open it..
  17. Yeah Scott, it has TWO of the Tempest 4cyls in this kit...one to put in the car and another for display. I've never done a review...this might be a good one to start with. This kit is still sealed, so I'll probably wait until I'm done with my current projects.
  18. Excellent job..love the 2 tone green. How about a front end shot? Which AMT kit is this?
  19. I received this Revell Attempt 1 kit today. Since I'm a Pontiac engine maniac...I mainly got it for the Pontiac 4cyl Tempest engines. Very cool kit! Mickey Thompson was the man!
  20. Very cool!!! Now how about the store Daisy bought her shorts...
