  1. Cary, that is a central distribution block for the coolant. The lines (2) come from the engine,1 is a supply line , the other is a return line. The other 6 lines coming out of the unit will go to the cab heater, bunk heater and the other 2 would likely be there to connect to an auxiliary power source (generator or APU) or it may just be there for future use.Same thing as the supply lines,1 is a supply line and the other is return coolant.
  2. That looks good,Pat. Nice detailing. I think the lines you're referring to are part of a device to cut off or limit fuel flow in the event of the engine loosing oil pressure. It would also not allow the engine to accelerate until it develops a minimum amount of oil pressure. The fuel lines are mainly between the two banks of cylinders on the front of the engine.
  3. I,ve got the front of the roof figured out now. Will build the sleeper roof from scratch. I used the original roof cut way down for the piece over the cab.I,m watching the local dealer to see if they get one in stock.
  4. Pat, if you are going to display it like that it should be fairly easy to make up a flywheel to go on the back end in the housing that is there. Google 16v71 detroit diesel and there are some photos there to give you some ideas. You might need a bigger lift truck in the shop now,LOL
  5. Pat,the filters on the side of the engine are oil filters. they are mounted to the oil coolers.the filters at the top front are fuel filters. Some times the oil filters would be mounted remotely from the engine to make them more accessible to service them.
  6. From what I found on Truck Paper .com there will be 10 of these built this year.I have started a conversion of the kit that I have.Only thing I have to figure out is the front portion of the roof over the cab. everything else is fairly easy.To build a completely accurate version would need the Cummins ISX engine which I don,t have yet
  7. GW trucks shows an RD hood conversion as well as aDM690, DM600 steel hood and an RB 600 hood conversion.
  8. Looks good Pavel. 2,000,000 miles and still ready to go anywhere on a moment,s notice . Like the extra tanks and placement of the battery boxes. The weathering on the truck and engine is great.
  9. Sean,I have that kit-no left hand side dash. Maybe cast the one from the Western Star kit ( Italeri # 790 ) ?
  10. Thanks for the welcome guys. Lots of ideas & info on here. Did not get to the Group 25 show this year but I do go to Daves every 2-3 weeks Wayne . He keeps more models in stock than anywhere else around here.
  11. Just joined . I like big trucks & drag cars (gassers & fuel altereds).Glad to be here.
