  1. Really looking forward to seeing your progression on such a great subject like this. Thanks for sharing.
  2. Looking for two of this decal, one for each valve cover, for a McEwen funny car. The first photo below shows what I'm looking for. The second photo shows the decal that came with the original McEwen double kit (NAVY FC and dragster), and please don't judge that one too harshly, built a looooong time ago. You can see that the decal is blue in both of those pics. The third pic shows what I have already, and these came with other McEwen FC decal sets. As you can see, they are almost purple. I have a set that is the right color but too small, but can't seem to find a set that is the more true blue color. As I said, I know they are on the original NAVY dragster kit decal set (not the reissue, it doesn't have them). They are roughly 5/8" long. And yes, I realize this might seem I am being a little picky, but I have sort of vowed to stay away from "good enough" when I can. So taking a shot. So, if anyone might have a set, happy to make a deal for them. Thanks for the read. Rob
  3. Love to see the Indy builds, thanks for sharing this one. Been gather up kits, parts, and materials for a few, so very interested in your build progress. So cool that you were at the qualifiers for that one. My white whale is the '70 Colt that Unser drove to victory as my 6 year old self watched from turn 4.
  4. Nice build! And “The Canuck”, love it.
  5. This is the one I built from that MPC Challenger F/C release from several years ago and Slixx decals. Bad old pic, sorry. But certainly some kits out there to build one from, that Soapy Sales kit and an old Johan Challenger kit as well. Good luck.
  6. Those are awesome. A couple on there I seem to gravitate towards on eBay. Sounds like you have an amazing collection, I’m sure you have enjoyed that over the years. I collect some things and I figure I probably always will. I need to get me a case like that too, great way to keep and display. My two chassis arrived, so I’ve got to complete a couple of bodies now.
  7. I love the drag bodies. The 4-gears are not fast, but they are all pretty close in performance so reaction time on the light is important which makes it fun. Plan to have a few fast chassis with AW or customized bodies, but then just teak all of the AW racers the same so comp is fun. I actually bought two of the Mega G+ Matmut cars a few years ago, so nice, but they were just too fast for my course set up and drag racing would have been kind of silly they were so fast. How big is your collection? What kind of cars are your favorites? I would like to pick up some of the older Indy/F-1s over time. My Petty runs OK, better than the Mustang, but kind of just want to leave them original rather than get new motors, etc.
  8. OK "AFX", sorry if I over-did it, but here's what I have. I have several bodies to paint and customize, and accumulating chassis for them, but nothing pic worthy yet. But do you know what I really want, the Slot Dragon timing system for my drag strip. Anyway, the Petty and orange Mustang I found with my old set at my Mom's house years ago, my originals, so the Petty is one of my faves.
  9. Nice! I like it. I’m more of a collector as well I guess. That’s one of the reasons I am trying to gather some chassis info. One to run and one to show as far as the ‘70s FCs go. I do like Indy and old NASCAR as well though. More of a race type car guy I guess. I only have three that aren’t racers. I’ll post pics tonight. I have one of the AutoWorld drag strips, the first or second one the did, but not set up. Have just set it up for use and then put away. I do have a regular layout on a 4x6 sheet of plywood, attached to the wood and on hinges so it is flipped up against a wall when not in use. It was the track we got for my son, added to since. Pics to come.
  10. Sure, I’ll take some pics, but only have 26-27 cars and 6-7 bodies to customize. Big ‘70s drag racing fan so those are my favorites.
  11. Tinkering around with my HO drag stuff, and was wondering if anyone has any tips for upgrading the AW 4-gear chassis. I have a Mega G+ and a JAG chassis to put on my custom bodies, but wouldn’t mind upgrading all the 4-gears that are on the AW dragsters and funny cars. I have seen something on tightening the fourth gear as well as changing out the wheel/axle. Any other thoughts? Tires? Parts?
  12. Any interest in this one for the USA-1 Larson Pro Stock Vega?
  13. Just beautiful! Great subjects and you did them justice. Thanks for sharing the great pics.
  14. Inspirational. Just great in every way. I have the body and decals to do this one on deck, but I also have an old 1320 metal body and a set of vinyl decals, and this one make me want to see how that works out for me. Thanks for showing this one.
  15. I have some I believe. I will dig 'em up an send pics.
  16. This is simply amazing. Love the historical recreation. There is nothing critical I could say, but I will say that regarding the display, my first thought before I saw it was that it would be sitting on a simple grass/mud surface. Really doesn't matter, that is amazing work.
  17. I've been to the Garlit's museum twice and took probably three hundred pics, but this is the best I can do. Maybe a little help but not much.
  18. Great builds. Love that era of FCs, and since my Meyer Mustang FC fell to the hands of my young son years ago, this is inspiration to build the one in my stash. Great Blue Max as well. Enjoyed the show.
  19. Like a lot of others obviously, I saw a lot of these. I was born on Blytheville AFB, a SAC base, and also had my first job there working as a laborer on the cruise missile facilities project. I grew up to the sound of B-52s and KC-135s warming up on the alert pad. I just recently visited the old base (it is in sad shape) and toured the new Cold War Museum. It is a nice project and still growing, but definitely worth stopping by if you are ever rolling up or down I-55 in Arkansas. It has inspired me to build a B-52, so yours is especially interesting and looks great. Thanks for sharing.
  20. Very nice. Love the old Indy cars, fell in love with them after attending the Indy 500 n '70 at age six. Thank you for adding a great Indy build to this board, fun to see.
