  1. Bill, I agree with you on the height of the front end. I was going for the "look" more than accuracy. I used an axle from a 70's funny car kit and it's straight not dropped like most were, and that gave me the height I was looking for without using bigger springs. These days anything with a straight axle is referred to as a Gasser and I suppose the 49 is, as you call it, a nostalgia car of today. Thanks for the comments, all are appreciated. Dusty P.
  2. Parts box front axle, springs and shocks. Thanks for the comments!! Dusty Plastic
  3. Hello all, started on this kit before Christmas and getting close to paint time. Removed the wipers, trim, and drip rails. Now if the weather would co-operate........ Dusty Plastic
  4. Creative and a powerplant I'd never considered......until now. What others have you built? Dusty P.
  5. Some amazing models and photography on this thread. Here's a couple of mine. I'll shoot a few more if you don't mind the dusty plastic.... Dusty P.
  6. I painted the 36 with metallic black and it didn't come out very well. Kinda milky. Thanks for the comment. Dusty P.
  7. Thanks for the comments guys, I'm half way through a 49 Ford gasser and plan to build my entire collection before I die.....yea right. Dusty P.
  8. Thanks Don, it's nice to have these kits re-issued.
  9. Lurked for a while and liked what I saw here so here I am.......been building about 50 years although less and less as I got older. Now retired, I find myself with the time to get back to the hobby I love. My eyesight isn't the best so super detailing isn't in the cards anymore. I found that more often than not I would get so involved with the little things and end up moving on to other projects anyway. Now I build them as clean and close as I can and then move on to the next one. I just posted some of my builds on the under glass section. Dusty P,
  10. Thanks Al, I couldn't resist the chopped top for the 36...it called me. Bruce also thanks and I will check out the other section. Dusty P.
  11. Hello all, I've been building models for about 50 years although life did get in the way for a lot of it. Recently things have settled down enough to allow plenty of bench time and although my eyesight isn't the best I still enjoy dusting off the plastic......The AMT 57 Chev was started many years ago and sat in bare metal mode forever. I got about half way through and gave up so a life long buddy finished it for me. He actually likes to do foiling. The 32 Ford pickup is the re-issued Lindberg kit. I built this as a kid and basically poured glue all over it. This time I changed the wheels and tires, front bumper, and 86'd the fender horns. Next was a quickie build of the Hippy Hemi rail, another one I destroyed as a lad. Now I was on a roll so the re-issue 36 Ford kit came next. Another basic out of the box build except better slicks and lowered front end. So after lurking here for a while I thought I'd share these and continue to enjoy all the quality building on this site. Thanks for looking and comments are always appreciated. Dusty P.
