  6. Thanks for the kind words guys. Brett, here's a few pics of the car I was trying to replicate. Although Mr. Norms cars were based out of Chicago, they toured nationally more than some of the other locals I used to see like the Creasy family and Gary Bolger's Golddigger. Being that US 30 was a regular stop for the Coca Cola Cavalcade tour meant that I got to see a LOT of touring pros. In it's heyday, that was THE midwest track to race at. Probably more so than Rockford, Great Lakes, etc IMHO. John, just let me know when, and I'll be glad to email you the pics I have. Aaron

  8. And the parade of my 'older' builds rolls on.... I completed this in '04 or '05. Eugene White body, but a stretched Boss Hoss Mustang chassis. I wished I had some under body reference pics for this one before I tackled it, but to this day can't find any. Oh well, just another one of the 'local' racers I saw frequently at Smokin' US 30 Dragstrip. Hope you like. Aaron

  12. Good advice from Mike. Also, the frame of the real dragster was black, or gunmetal in color. If you Google search for Ramchargers, you can find plenty of good reference pics for this car. Aaron

  16. What 70's car(s) were your going to build? Blower hold-down straps didn't come along until maybe the VERY late 70's if not early 80's. Given what I just wrote, there's probably someone who put straps on their blower in the 70's, it's just that I can't recall any. Aaron
  17. Another older build. Other than the rear slicks, it's box stock. This sat on my shelf for ages as a poorly made Prudhomme Army Monza. Tore it down completely more for the paint experience than anything else. Enjoy. Aaron

  23. Jim, Nice to see you 'in the groove' again! Man, this looks VERY promising. Great job on the paint and decaling. I hear you on the Tamiya clear. That happened to my Hawiian Charger too. Went thru 3 sets of those and it still didn't turn out the way I wanted to. Keep up the GREAT work on this one. I'll be watching-n-waiting! Aaron
  24. Andy - I did use the Revell frame. I lowered the driver's cage and raised the rear axle mounts to get the car as low as possible. I still think I should've had it at least 4 scale inches lower in the back, but engine position and clearance became issues at that point. Shoe did point out to me that the engine should've had a more forward placement. Perhaps that would've solved the body height problem. Aaron
