  1. Amazing work, Jason. You have way more skill and patience than me!
  2. Here's a Chevelle wreck in progress that will be added to the salvage yard soon... just a few more details. This was a decently built model I found on eBay. It was coming apart, but all there and priced right. When I took it apart to begin wrecking it, I noticed that it had been built from two kits.... one red, one blue.
  3. Hi yall. I ain't been on here in a while but we're back to 100º afternoons down here in FL, so I've been working on a new salvage yard diorama. Here's one angle of where I am presently...
  4. I guess I'm getting a little carried away with the details, but hey, it's a challenge. Here's one I'm working on now. It was a fairly well-built model I bought on eBay. I've completely disassembled it, and building the wreck from the inside out.
  5. I too was confused. My dioramas are NEVER finished!?
  6. Nice work. I've experimented with small ramps for the lifts in my garage, but never thought about cutting out the floor!
  7. Your details are amazing! I couldn't do that even back in my younger days!
  8. Well, it's been raining like hell here the last few days, so I got back to work on my salvage yard diorama out in the garage. I'm glad there's some racing back on TV so I can have that on while I play with my toys.
  9. One caster came off my my rolling table somehow. No way to get it back on without starting over, so I'm back to square... ummm. 3?
  10. Nice work and an interesting subject. I've considered trying my hand at resin casting, but decided my skills ain't up to the task. I love vintage NASCAR and have done a couple of 1-offs. This one is still on my bench and intended to be Buddy Baker's #87
  11. Since I don't go anywhere anymore, and have now seen everything that Netflix has to offer, I'm getting a little more work done on the diorama. Still got some "grass" to glue down, and lots of accessories and figures to add. The yard next to the shop is where we bring the performance cars to remove their engines and other salvageable parts. Then, if there's nothing of value left on the "carcus" they'll go to that crusher back there.
  12. Nicely done. Thats one huge armadillo!
  13. Photoshop. I take a lot of sunset photos at that golf course in our neighborhood. I photograph the diorama, erase the background (the most tedious part), then size and embed the photo as a background layer.
  14. Making some progress. Here's a photo, with a dash of Photoshop. That background is a sunset photo I took down here a few days ago:
  15. Making a little progress. It really helps being able to access this 360º with the rolling table. I've ordered some more stone wall and grass and still toying with the layout. I'll keep yall posted.
  16. Nice build. I've built one or two of that kit over the years.
  17. I'm a long time Corvette enthusiast and have been looking forward to the mid-engine. It's been on and off the drawing board for decades. I doubt you'll ever see a C8 in a dealers "stale inventory". The Chevy dealer here told me they've pre-sold their allotted number of C8s through 2022 and, if I put a deposit down, I could get on the waiting list. I think I'll stick with my 2016 Z06 3LZ convertible for now. https://www.shamblesmodels.com/real-cars.html
  18. With a little discomfort, I managed to get the rolling work table assembled. I've got a swivel stool to assemble later. I'm gonna take down the fixed shelf in the back of the garage and put the mobile version in that space placing the same board on the rolling table. I also got a little more wrecking and weathering done and adding. some details like the cinder blocks that the cars will set on in the yard.
  19. That's why I splurged on the decal printing package from MicroMark. It came with at white cartridge for the laser printer that you can swap out with the black cartridge. It's a little tedious, but you can run the paper though the first time with the images converted to all "black"... which prints white if the cartridges are swapped. Then, run the page through again and print the 4 color process. Works pretty good but the registration is a little squirlly on the really small decals.
  20. Thanks, David. I shoulda known better than to get on that #!!@#$ step stool. My rolling work table came today and my shoulder has gotten a lot better so I plan on assembling it tomorrow (the table, not my shoulder). I want to get back to work on my diorama!
