CA Glue Brand Preference
KENNEDYJR replied to JPolli's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have been using the Gorilla Glue brand for a while now. Easy to restock when I am out shopping. -
Fireball has them- http://fireballmodels.info

Get a Molotow chrome pen ASAP! Those things are amazing.

Amazing work! -
So far so good. I like the color. Do those have the TPI engine?

WOW! The word awesome comes to mind. Fantastic build.

You are off to a great start!

Engine detailing started. Added the idler pulley assembly and spark plug boots (from Crazy Scale auto parts for dirt cheap-get some). I need to tackle all of the fuel lines before I install the distributor and plug wires. Plug boots

Wheels and tires are ready as well. The Centerlines are from the Monogram 70 Chevelle, and the tasty rear tires are from Fireball Models. Do not delay, buy some!! Excellent quality. I used a Molotow pen on the center caps and added valve stems while I was at it. Tires

Thanks Aurf! It looks like the Camaro has an aftermarket fuel tank so the stocker will have to go. I found a good donor on a stock car that will work. I covered the hole in the chassis with styrene sheet.

Absolutely. If this goes well I may use the newer Revell kit and build the newest version with a SBC and tunnel ram. I wish Photobucket still worked,I would love to see the finished build that J Talmage did.

That shows how long I have been out of the hobby. I didn't know it was released.

The inner fenders and firewall from the 67 kit need to be removed to allow the 69 chassis pan to fit. The firewall and radiator support fit well as is. I do have my work cut out regarding the body though. I removed the emblems and the trim around the wheels and rocker panels. In doing so I also removed some of the stamped detail below the trim which I will need to repair/replace.

The basics of the engine are painted. Transmission is from the Monogram Monte Carlo kit with a scratch built pan. The oil pan is from the parts box(the flip nose 53 Ford truck kit I believe) with a deep sump added. Heads and valve covers are from the Firebird Prostock kit and the block is from the AMT 69 Chevelle. Parts box to the rescue!

Base color on the chassis parts. Lots of detail paint left to do. I scratch built the subframe connectors and the trans mount. I also had to cut out some material in the rear wheel wells to fit the rear tires. The rear diff is from a Monogram Nascar kit and the springs are from the AMT 66 Fairlane. The chassis pan is from the Revell 69 kit btw.

This will be my first try at a replica of a known car. I am a big fan of Roadkill and Roadkill garage so building the Crusher Camaro was at the top of my list. Wish me luck! I will be using the AMT kit as a base with liberal use of my parts box. I will post up my progress so far..

Get back to work! We need a progress update on this one.

I dig it! Great color combo.

That engine bay looks like a picture of the real car! Amazing work.
