  1. Have an acquaintance that quit in January, Said it was just took taxing and stressful. More since the 2020, 2021-22 problems. Working extra hours because of no-shows, called in on days off and working short handed a lot! Things we don't hear about. Said they have people who do this chronically even just announcing they don't feel good and leaving without a replacement so you wind up doubling up what you are responsible for! The real kicker, these ones doing this don't get fired!
  2. The tires and wheels are what came in the original kit. The tires have a plastic piece to achieve a wider look and the lettering.
  3. Those old two stroke three lung bikes were wild rides for sure!
  4. Finished as far as I want to go. Was an original kit that was an unpainted glue bomb and used parts from a later kit to rebuild.
  5. I would have run my old H2 Kawasaki against the Suzuki any time. H1 I had would hold its own two until it would melt another center cylinder piston.!LOL
  6. I bought a 71 basket case for 100 dollars in the mid 80's the guy had taken it all apart for some unknown reason. I did a quick paint job and put it together one weekend. Was one of the best bikes I ever owned! Rode it for two years until it broke a cam. Sold it for 500 dollars as is. Fastest I had it was 110mph had a shake between 85 and 90 mph that went away above 90. Never figured that out as I didn't need to kill myself so never went that fast again on it. It handled curves great and was pretty quick off the line. I wouldn't mind having one today!
  7. Wonder if he confessed before he went.
  8. Got the decals from another member but appears when the new release was done the center of the tonneau cover was made narrower. I had the old woodgrain from the original kit and after scraping the dried up adhesive glued it on with craft glue.
  9. I have seen several my first in grade school on the playground using a cardboard box. Our daughter-in-law in Indiana heard all the hype on how animals would react. Cats slept through it the dogs lazed around like nothing was happening and her chickens kept roaming the yard pecking at bugs and grass in the yard. The squirrel kept trying to climb the snlinky on the bird feeder post. Nothing unusual at all. Their kids all had glasses supplied by their school and came home saying it was kind of boring. LOL
  10. I had one and my grandma said I was too old for it and a lot of other stuff gave it to my cousins while I was away with a neighbor to the Winter Nationals. A year or so later was out to my aunts with grandpa squirrel hunting and it was down by a brush pile smashed up and rusty. She also gave them my Matt aDillon six shooter and holster, Wanted Dead Or Alive Rifle and Red Ryder BB gun. Like everything of ours the got, they destroyed them.
  11. We got something like that, I always just delete them and go right to my account to see if there is a problem. Never use any links in emails.
  12. Not an unsimilar experience for us. Wife always looks for that first robin of spring and gets all excited, except this year it was when it bounced off her side of the windshield as we drove to town. Was really windy and a truck went by in the other lane.
  13. Mine is not being able to go to work, miss it!😞
  14. Someone out must have built the custom version and has the stock pieces in their parts bin!
  15. Well stalled out because of a missing part. Hope can find one soon. So this is where I'm at. Top is just sitting on still need to do the trim.
  16. 98% done and just realized it was not in the box! Traded for the kit several years ago, it had been resealed and never bothered to check it.
  17. Probably last WIP post on this one. It is going together. Just worked on the taillights. Used old foil out of a cigarette box . Been using that same piece for around 30 years and still have a lot left.
  18. 1st of 2014! Just finished it today. I wouldn't have bought the kit myself but one of my sons bought it for me so had to build it. Glad I did as it is better than I thought it would be!
  19. Our youngest Granddaughter did the weather at 6:30am on WGN 9 Chicago this morning!
  20. Got the stripes on finally. Did the sides a couple days ago and finally got brave enough to do the roof stripe! LOL
  21. Cool old rail! Remember, the real thing was just as simple in those days!
  22. Been working on it on and off on days my left hand isn't twitching as bad. Doing the foil work now. K Just not sure on how to approach the white stripe yet.
