  1. Thanks guys, but I got it. Heavy dose of micro set plus a stiff tooth brush followed by a good wipe with water.
  2. I put some decals on a pre painted die cast. They came out not so good and I want to replace them. I have a new set, but what is the best way to remove the first set without messing up the paint?
  3. I'm getting just a little bit tired of the Danika soap opera. Sure she is cute and sexy, but she is just another driver. She is in a never lose situation. Had she gotten to the guys' pit, what would have happened? If she took a swing, what could he do? Take it and look like a wimp in front of TV? Or drop her on her cute little butt and look like a monster? It's time for her to grow up. Stop the complaining and drive.
  4. Clay, I'm a Korea vet. USAF from 1951-1957. No, wasn't on the front lines with my life in danger. Was way back in the rear readying B-47s for whatever mission they were called on to perform. But I still think that I have helped keep our country safe and strong. To me, memorial day is to remember those who never came home. Veterans day is to honer all who have served. Armed forces day is to thank all who are now serving. My 17 year old grand daughter is a Lt. in her high school USMC ROTC. We have discussed the war in Iraq along with other world situations. Her comments were "Grandpa I'm ready to serve, whenever I'm needed, and wherever I'm needed". I couldn't be more proud. To those who were less fortunate than me and never made it home, I'll remember and honer you. Not just on this day, but forever. To those who served and made it back like me, well done. To those who now serve, like Clay, thanks buddy for keeping us safe. God bless you all.
  5. Just got my $300 check today and it's going to support our hobby. Gonna spend it all at Michaels using their discount coupons. Should keep me in good stuf for a long time.
  6. Hey Bill, Thanks for the support. Hopefully, week after next, results will be seen. As for models on eBay. You all know my skill level. If he were to try to sell mine on eBay, the customer would want them free and he would have to pay the shipping. But, just maybe, a couple of kids will think that they are O.K.
  7. O.K. guys, I got the AMT kit complete with a full decal set. I also got the 69 Charger die cast by Maisto. The die cast is much more detailed than I'm capable of but is not consistant withe the General Lee. Wrong engine, interior bucket, external rear view mirrors, no roll cage etc... I would like to use the basic die cast body and the AMT engine and interior but have no clue as to how to go about it. Any suggestions?
  8. Well said Carl. After our conversation today, I posted a comment on Rachels' "thanks" thread. It said "stay tunned".
  9. Hey guys, Carl called me today to let me know that my cars have arrived. Stay tunned.
  10. I'm trying to build the 69 Charger "General Lee" for a friend of mines' son. Got the AMT kit with a full decal set. Knowing my skills and with a tip from someone here, I also picked up the Maisto die cast kit. The die cast kit has great paint and detail, which I wouldn't be able to match, but varies from the AMT kit in several areas. Engine, interior, external rear view mirrors, etc... Any suggestions as to how best marry the two kits?
  11. Kenny and I have been doing a little research. According to Ken, The addy is for a one man wedding video taping operation and the phone number is for a middle school summer football camp. Looks like I got hosed guys and rollin and mademan were right. I don't mind being taken, has happened before, but what really ticks me off is that I wrongly jumped on a bunch of good guys here in his defence.
  12. Carl, According to UPS, the two cars that I sent you were delivered today, Thursday May 22nd, at 11:47 AM. When can we expect to see some photos of them in the kids hospital rooms with the happy kids? Milt
  13. You are right Ken. I did attack them for no real reason other than my own feelings about helping kids. I have already apologized to the two guys that I offended, and I assure you that it wont happen again, with or without forum rules. In fact I wont even bother posting again. Sure, I'll continue to read threads, pick up tips, and view models, but from here on out, I'll keep my thoughts to myself.
  14. First of all, Rollinskoo and mademan, sorry I jumped on you both in such an inappropriate manner for your suspicions. I guess that I just got all caught up in what seemed to be a great cause. Raul, Kevin, Antonio, and any others who responded. If I caused you to lose some models, I'm truly sorry. The cars that I sent to Carl will arrive Thursday. I have asked him to post photos either with kids or displayed in a hospital room. If he does, I'll be back on the band wagon. If not, oh well. Until then, whichever, my efforts are on hold.
  15. Carl, I hope that this is a real deal. My cars should be there Thursday. Take a couple of pictures of them with a kid or displayed in a hospital room and post it on the forum. That might be all of the proof that some would need. As for my cars, keep them. If this is a legit cause, at least two kids will be a little happier. If not, I will be a little bit wiser.
  16. A couple of guys, rollinoldskoo and mademan, think that this may be a scam. After accusing them of nasty things, I realized that they had a point. I didn't check Carl or his friend out before I got you all involved in this. Maybe I'm just to trusting. Anyhow, before shipping any models, I suggest a moratorium to determine just what is what. My models are already gone. They are of little value anyhow, but you guys builds are heavy duty and I wouldn't want to see you lose them because of my blind thinking. Here is what I do know. I "googled" the company that I shipped my models to in Grand Rapids. Search came up "unknown". Only Carl McCarthy lawyer that I could find was in New York., not Grand Rapids. I'm hoping that I'm wrong, but maybe rollinoldskoo and mademan are right. My cars are on the way but yours don't have to be. Hold off on shipments until we can verify that this is real. Carl?
  17. Yep. Maybe I'm dumb, stupid, and/or naive, but I take people at their word at least once. I may be wrong and if my friends are scammed into parting with some models because of my enthusiasm, I will beg their forgiveness. Your right. I didn't check it out.
  18. O.K. Mike, at least you have a name. Maybe scam, maybe not, I don't think so but we will see. At least for now I and several others think that we are doing a good thing. Canada eh? I have never been in an igloo, but, I too drink beer and would be glad to share a few with you. At least you identified your concerns instead of just "bah humbug".
  19. Didn't mean it as a racial slur. If you took it that way, I'm sorry. Just meant that you might find something else to do besides rain on a parade.
  20. Works for me. Check it out with the other guys. Whatever you all decide.
  21. Hey Mr. ???? Don't know how to address you since you have no name signature, which I think is, if not required but suggested. You are not invited to my Cars for kids NNL. in fact you are banned. If I'm being suckered, then I'm in good company. Some of the finest guys that I know are participating. I/we don't need your negative bull ######.
  22. This isn't a layitlow forum. What the hell kind of a grinch are you?
  23. Hey my "friend"? If you think that it is a scam. Stay the F@#% out of the conversation and go back to polishing puka shells. It started when a guy was willing to BUY models for these kids. Didn't mean to be so harsh, but it just flat out pi..... me off that there is no longer trust between people. Like I said, if you think that it is a scam, don't participate.
  24. O.K. Guys, here's the deal. Another get together. Same place, Luigi's, will give address and directions later if anyone needs it. You all decide on a date and I'll get the room. I would suggest late July or early August, but here is the kicker. Each participant needs to bring a completed model which will be sent to our "cars for kids" project. More info on this can be found in the "general" section as well as Evilones build off in "works in progress". Nope, don't need your show stuf, just something that an 8-10 year old would enjoy. Bring the box that the kit came in. I will have a large bag of packing peanuts available so that after our BS session, we can pack them up so as to eliminate any shipping damage. I'll then take them to UPS and bulk ship them to their new home. Shipping charge will be on me, but you guys buy the pizza. I'm local so any date is good for me. You guys decide what works best for you and let me know.
