  1. casassa added a post in a topic Bolt sizes

I think most of the suspension bolts on those cars would be in the 3/8" to 1/2" inch range, in scale that would be about .015" to .020". Hex size for bolt heads or nuts would scale out to .023" to .026". If you're looking for real bolts I think sixe 0000 is the closest you'll find. If you're wanting only to simulate bolt heads and nuts, hex and round stock are available from Plastruct.  I think someone offers photoetched bolt heads, but can't recall who. HTH  JIM.

  3. casassa added a post in a topic Looking for louvers

Harry, you might want to check out www.archertransfers.com for louvers.  They are resin printed on a decal sheet and come in a variety of sizes. They are not open, but with some black paint or marker they are close. JIM
  4. casassa added a post in a topic Revell 1957 Ranchero?

I think a Ranchero from Revell is a certainty since I purchased a JF resin kit.  It seems that every time I've bought a resin body to use with a current kit the model company adds that body style to their lineup. JIM

Jeremy, let me know if you need contact info for the Ft. Wayne club. If you'd like I can add you to the HMCA email newsletter list so you'll receive show flyers.

In the past we've had members who drove from Ft Wayne to Indy to attend meetings and even how we have one member who lives in Grant Co.

Jeremy, if you're in central IN, you might be interested in checking out the HMCA. We meet 2nd and 4th Monday of every month. JIM

I like them all, so I voted "other".
I'm surprised Art didn't list the Vicky. I think the Phaeton, Vicky, and the closed cab and roadseer pickups, in that order, would be the best choice for the next body style in this series. JIM

HMCA (Hoosier Model Car Association) is centered in Indy, but has members from other parts of the state. If you're interested in receiving our monthly newsletter , which has includes a calendar of area events and flyers for many of them, send me an email and I'll add you to the list. Our contest and swap meet this year will be May 5th.

PS for you guys in the Muncie area, I understand there is a club starting up there which meets at a hobby shop - Toys Forever - in downtown Muncie.

At one time you could purchase one from Mike's Scale Speed Shop.
  12. casassa added a post in a topic For those of you who compete......

Harry, I agree that a point system is great, but it takes a lot more time or a lot more judging to do the judging with a point system. HMCA did that for several years and even with a great swap meet to occupy the time, modelers get impatient waiting for the judges to finish.
  13. casassa added a post in a topic Latest news from Revell

LHS had a Revell flyer that listed the '32 5W for July. I think some folks may have seen a test shot at the Milwaukee NNL. I'm gonna pre-order a couple.
