  1. Nice work on the paint job Angel. I like the colors you chose. You are just flying right along now. Rob
  2. Thanks guys for the nice comments. I've been working on stripping some of the chrome parts to paint with Alclad. I usually use bleach with good results but these with these parts it didn't work. I then resorted to good old oven cleaner which worked very well. Rob
  3. Your seat looks great Brian. This is going to be one fine ride!
  4. I'm definitely not ahead on the final lap Brian. I had a little more time tonight to look closer at you progress pictures and I am blown away at the nice detail on your fuel tank straps, the valves on the tanks and much more throughout. Very nice work my friend. Rob
  5. Nice start on you KW Jacobus. I'll be following along with you build.
  6. Thanks guys! I'm much happier with the outcome of the second set of decals. Now time to move forward with getting some of the smaller details added and the tractor should be getting close to complete. Then onto the trailer and I am biting at the bit to get another rig started soon.
  7. The engine details look incredible Brian. I love those wood floors. Time for me to wave the white flag.
  8. I really like the way your mud flaps have turned out Dan. I am with the others on the colors. Looks very cool! Rob
  9. I can't believe we are already at the end of May! Not a lot done this month, more or less just fixing my own mistakes. Thanks again Brian for the Diamond Reo decals. They do look very nice. I hope I can return the favour one day. Rob
  10. Hi there guys Just thought I should check in and say hi. Been on the road for work quite a bit the last few weeks and have not had much bench time. I did get a little done, replaced the DR decals on the hood (thanks very much Brian!) and repainted the dashboard. I will get some pics posted soon. Rob
  11. Hand painted pin stripes! Wow, just when I think I have seen it all here on the forum, you step it up Jon! The cab looks great and thanks for posting your videos. Rob
  12. Your scratch building and details are very nice Jaroslav. The hood looks really nice.
  13. Thanks everyone for your nice comments. Gator, the floor material is a thin sheet of rubber like foam I found at the dollar store. I thought I'd give it a try to see how it looks. I still need to glue it down. Looking at the photos of the dash board I am really not happy with the results. I struggled with the paint I used (Krylon), when I put the second coat on the dash the paint wrinkled on me. I can't understand why the same paint would cause that, especially after letting the first coat dry for a week. I'm going to strip it down and try again. I think I can do better. I guess I went a little overboard on using decal set on the DR decals. The Texaco decals for the doors were a little thick so I was able to get it to sit nicely with the decal set. The DR decals were a little thinner so I probably should have gone without decal set. The lessons we learn. Brian, I may take you up on the offer. I just don't want you to have to pay for mailing. I'll send you a PM. Thanks again everyone. This build has been so much fun I think I am hooked on trucks now.
  14. I've been working away at the interior and started doing some decal work on the body. Lots to do yet but still rolling along. I have to repair the decal beside the grill. Dang thing ripped on me. The interior is far from finished but it's coming along. Thanks for looking! Rob
  15. Looks great Nathan. This is a very nice kit to build.
  16. It's coming along nicely Terry. I bet once you paint the tailgate it'll blend in nicely with the rest of the trailer.
  17. Great Hobbies has Spaz-Stix available online Pat. They are a Canadian company. Seems like it is used for Lexan RC bodies, so maybe a hobby shop that specializes in RC would have it.
  18. You're off to a great start Andy. This is going to be a cool build.
