  1. I have a light colored wood laminate in my hobby room. Went to Lowes and picked up a Black rubber backed all weather carpet runner for under my work area. This works for me and was able to get by with only spending the xtra bucks for the carpet runner.
  2. I have no problem walking in and buying finger nail polish. With two daughters and being married 23 years, I have bought my fair share of girly things for them, that's for sure.
  3. Great Tip. Need to scour around the house and see if there are any laying around.
  4. Being new to model building I am pretty open to trying new things. After cruising the forums,I have discovered there is an advantage to having daughters and modeling. The advantage is the endless supply of paints in the form of nail polish. Since the girls are no longer living at home, I told the wife anything left by the girls is free game and I was going to raid the bathroom of all finger nail polish left behind. She then said to go thru her stash and take what I want. I think I ended up with 25+ bottles (not including the pinks) of nail polish and most are full and never opened. Think I'll get a pack of plastic spoons and check paint compatibility and colors.
  5. Late arrival I bought for myself.. Anyone want to guess what's wrong with this box?
  6. AMT Petty Dodge Dart AMT 66 Nova Pro Street Lindberg 66 Chevelle Revell 70 Torino GT Numerous building tools, i.e., PanaVise, files, Tamiya sanding sponges, etc...
  7. The color is close enough for me. Its sprayed with craft acrylics and clear coated with minwax gloss clear acrylic.
  8. LOL.. Booger is an understatement. I did struggle with a few things but learned a lot in the process. Looking forward to the next challenge.
  9. Here's my first build in 30+ years. Back then, my models were pure glue bombs. Its not complete but starting to resemble an old time gasser and am pretty happy with it so far. Not doing much detailing as that will come with time as I get more builds behind me.
  10. I only recently started building plastic model cars as a hobby. One of my first purchases was the dehydrator for paint drying purposes.. I order this one from Amazon - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008H2OENC?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00 in addition to the extra trays- http://www.amazon.com/Presto-06306-Electric-Dehydrator-Dehydrating/dp/B008HPVOAU/ref=pd_bxgy_79_img_3?ie=UTF8&refRID=10KHY1A2F4611E5QQMBF Once you trim out the bottoms of the trays, you have plenty of clearance. I also added the thermometer to the top and it maintains a temp of 105 perfectly.
  11. Pretty cool to see the work areas of others. Only recently I reclaimed my shop area above my garage and started building model cars. Its not near as neat and clean as others but it works for me.
  12. CT Stroker decal goes on the hood.
  13. What primer and paint did you use on the body?
  14. Thanks for the welcome. Already picking up a lot of good information from the forum. Hope to post some pictures of my first build on the bench in the coming days.
  15. I think the problem is in the Createx Black paint. Body has been soaking for a little while and all the black stripped off with ease. All other colors (different brand) as well as primer stayed adhered. So the learning curve begins......... :-)
