  1. Epic build! I have one on deck. I'll be peeking at this thread!
  2. Nice! I have one 66 Fleetside Shortbed on deck that I am making into a 4x4 as well. Got the same tires too! Your paintjob is killer. Haven't decided on my colors yet. Nice build, you set the bar high for sure. Thanx.
  3. Nice! Picked one up this week to replicate my brothers old wagon in real life. It will be Navy gray and White. Hope it compares to yours.
  4. Thanx, but there is a bazillion Mike Coleman's on Facebook. Any link perhaps? Appreciated muchly.
  5. Anyone know of someone that makes custom waterslide decals for a 1/25 scale car? The car is painted dark candy purple and the blank decal sheets don't seem to show colors on dark cars. Needs a certain printer, which I do not have. I can supply artwork in the proper form. Just need name of car and the stripes as shown below. Pic is of actual 1/1 car. Any help or guidance to the correct person or a method that I don't know of would be greatly appreciated. Thanx
  6. More Pics from today's show in Carlsbad. Rest are in my dropbox. Lower Left Coast pics August 13, 2016
  7. I think I may shoot over there after my Saurday morning chores
  8. WOW! Great job all the way around. Looking forward to the final version. Every time I come to this board, the bar has been raised again!
  9. Any pics of that blue 4x4 truck I spotted in the bg of one of the pics?
  10. Thanx for the response. Your car looks great, but hopefully mine will be much darker, as it needs to be. As I said the black backer just made the car black after the purple was sprayed on, just one coat for testing. I was going to use Duplicolor white primer, then the Silver Metallic (lightly as you suggested) followed by a couple coats of the Candy Purple Dynamite. Would a black flat primer before the Silver Metallic backer make the end result darker or not affect it at all? Thanx.
  11. I am doing my car in Spaz Stix Candy Purple Dynamite. Great looking color although I have not painted mine yet to show you. Using the correct backer paint for it will determine effect. I tried the black backer first, but way too dark for me. White primer backer allowed it to be a great purple, but not dark enough for my project. I have ordered the Silver Metallic Backer for mine as I have read that is the one that shows the best candy effect and should be just about the right shade in the end. Good luck.
  12. Next up Silver Metallic backer. Does more coats of the Candy Purple make it "purpler"? Thanx for responding.
  13. Yes. I know this post is old, but it may get some play again (hopefully). I am painting a car Candy Purple Dynamite, but I am conducting some tests first on extra plastic bodies etc. First I used the Black Backer (High Gloss) then the Candy and it still just looks black. I tried the Duplicolor white primer first and it is just too purple, good color, but not what I am after. Third I tried a gray primer and it looks way too dark, almost pure black as well. Next up I will try the Silver Metallic backer to see if I can get the purple a little darker than "stock", but not too dark. Has anyone tried the Silver? I am trying to match a tribute car and the color "appears" to be a Candy Purple on the real car. The Spaz Stix paint looks great and will probably suffice if I can get the right backer/primer. All of the reseach found Lexan projects which paint the backer last on the inside of the clear car. My model is not clear to start with. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanx.
  14. Wow! That build is EPIC. Did you make the fire extinguisher or can I buy one somewhere?
  15. I'm 56 as well! As far as bowing, it was only for width. I did not want to alter the shape of the wheel wells. The rear end is drastically shorter already. Dremel tool is my friend. I did not want it to look too much like a funny car from the rear, so I comprimised. No one can tell the bow unless I point it out. Below is an earlier pic of the mock up rear end that fits.
  16. Yes they are and us "old folks" refer to them as albums! Looking forward to your Pro Street version as well.
  17. That looks awesome caine440! Any more pics? I am stuffing a big dual-plug hemi in mine, like the actual car. I had to bow the body out a little in the rear to fit those meats that came with the Mustang. Below is a working mock for stance. It's coming along. Thanx for your post!
  18. OMG! Top notch workmanship on every detail. Now we know how high the bar can be set. If you want to know how low, look at my work! LOL. Outstanding build. A pleasure to view this thread.
