  1. Oh hey, people responded! (dangit, still getting used to this site!) The comment about people asking a question that had been covered a few posts earlier reminds me of the pain endured at this computer over the last month while trying to sell a 1:1 snow plow via Craig's List... I shall refrain from venting to you all, but GEESH don't people READ???
  2. Yeah, I was thinking that myself... But that technique would add enough material to ruin the "flushness", wouldn't it? We can see where he sanded beforehand. Need more intel! ?
  3. (sigh) If only the owners of 1:1 Javelins cared so much about correct details... We don't even hit the local shows anymore... the odds of seeing a Javelin and/or AMX that is even remotely correct is so low. Most AMC people are still, so this day, ultra-cheap and only a handful seem to care at all about originality. They don't seem to understand just how much rarer their vehicle is than any dime-a-dozen HEMI. Am I being a bit harsh? YUP. But some of it comes from knowing just how hard it is to find certain parts, what those parts can go for, and then seeing those parts hacked up for "customs", etc. When I owned my Javelin, it wasn't THE car I wanted, but heck, driving around in a big, stinky, loud, purple/blue American V8 was DARN fun. Though all the comments about it being a Camaro or Corvette annoyed the begeebers out of me... If only I had been able to put it back to how it came from the factory: Javelin 401 auto, flat steel hood, probably with a vinyl roof... and HORSEPOWER... (sigh)...
  4. Interesting subject... but what am I missing with the headlights? Why did you add/change the "squares"?
  5. I've been told by my boyfriend (who is older than me) that the whole Pinto thing was put together by either Nader or a news agency at the time... I never looked into it as it would only make me mad. But supposedly you could see in the footage the cars exploding slit-seconds BEFORE impact. BUT again, don't quote me on that. And with the state of the internet these days, any footage showing that has probably been scrubbed from view...
  6. I SHOULD be super excited about a film like that... BUT I have no desire whatsoever to see it... I dislike modern movies with all their digital "special effects" and annoying acting... if it were filmed in the 1960s-70s I'd be more likely to see it. (what can I say... I am ultra-picky)...
  7. I've been building on and off since I was a little girl... alas, I keep getting into a bad burnout/rut where I have no desire to do just about anything creative... ?
  8. Looks like the photo above was from Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance 2013... I found one more (1932 Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Touring Spider) Here are a few more of that car from that show: https://www.conceptcarz.com/events/event/1245!3253/pebble-beach-concours-delegance.aspx
  9. Maybe if you can get the name of the owner of "ZH 1404", or pinpoint which shows it has been at, you can get more pics.
  10. Oooooooooooooh! Those are them!!! Rite Aid, eh? Hmmm..... I think the Super 7 kit has separate chrome center caps, so the spinners would have to come off, then the caps... hmmmmmmmmmmm... (Ooooops, I think I just let the cat out of the proverbial bag as to my possible project)
  11. Need to update my January 27, 2016 post.......... Had to sell the Javelin and Ma totaled the blue Crown Vic (though my mechanic resurrected it and is driving it). I am now on Vic 3.0, a 2008 "P71".
  12. I see some nice wheels but alas not the ones I need... darn it!
  13. How in the Wide World of Sports do you guys make the files for those prints?? Holy cow... all I can say...
  14. (MODS - if this is the wrong place to post this, please feel free to punish me) I have a suggestion for folks sharing photos of their finished models... PLEASE say which manufacturer made the kit! To some of us, such details are of the utmost importance... ? Thanks!
  15. Nells250

    Ferrari F50

    Is that the Revell version?
  16. Forgive me, I have been out of the loop a while... are those straight out of the box or aftermarket parts added for the race versions? Need to get myself back up to speed with these kits!
  17. OK so that IS the Tamiya kit... Need to score one somehow... may need to thin the collection to do it! ?
  18. Nifty topic! I was just about to offer a detailing suggestion (paint the inside of the convertible top a different shade) when I saw the 1:1 photos... another fact to file in my brain for future use!!!
  19. Are those actual kit wheels? Never seen those in scale before.
  20. (INSERT DROOL HERE) I SO miss going to shows and events with just those types of cars... (sigh)...
  21. Thanks for the reply! I guess I just assumed that there would be a cottage industry for aftermarket parts in Europe just like here in the US... guessed wrong! Who is "UCSP", by the way?
  22. HI all, long time no type... I am still in model-building-burnout-mode, BUT have been toying with the possibility of a possible project. Thing is, as usual, I would need to find a specific item to make it accurate. I have been sitting here searching online for sources for British-car aftermarket parts, and have found NONE. There HAVE to be SOME! Can anyone point me in the direction of items such as 1/24 resin Lotus Elan wheels? JD
