  1. very sorry for your loss, those builds look great! i was tempted to get the harts conversion for my 70 amt kit,but decided to leave it as a 70 instead of a 71
  2. i use mcw paints all the time and sometimes their lacquer line when i can find the color i want in enamel,i use the enamel hardner only to speed up my drying times as i dont use a dehydrator,i also use the enemal clear a lot(looks yellowish in color in the bottle)as well as their 2k style lacquer clear and i have used the hardner with the enamel clear, but it seemed to backfire as it took months to dry and the paint was still a little soft?i wrote to mike at mcw and he did not recomend using hardner with their enamel clear, only lacquer thinner like mr color or their mcw brand as that will speed up the drying time a bit
  3. if its who i think it is on e bay they combine shipping,i also buy direct from mcw,it ends up being the same cost except when you buy directly from mcw they have a full stock and you dont have to wait to get the paint colors you want
  4. really cool project, cant wait to see it when its done!
  5. i bought some from him back last summer, very nice stuff just wait for him to respond to your e mail
  6. i have one of them on order from them and so far nothing yet?they offer some excuse on their website
  7. i just bought one from e bay for $29.99 got it last week,...now the 2 i pre ordered from 2 different online hobby stores months ago im still waiting for.....the ones i see on e-bay are now in the$40$50 range!!!
  8. looking forward to see this build, walt siler would be proud!
  9. Yes the 442 has a Rochester Q-jet by fireball I have some other carbs 440-6-pack carbs I have yet to use his stuff is very nice
  10. thanks! after looking at them i think i will use thinner styrene or sand them down more, but once i learned how to do them woth styrene/textured paint i applied them on a lot more builds!
  11. Some race builds I have been working on,.. takes a Hella lot of time to finish one of these, at least for me anyways scratch built rollcages on some futtaratractions and 3-d parts , trying to build small tire racing stuff.
  12. my god split dominators on a surf wagon, love it!...also like the clear scoop, great job, well done!
  13. i always use MCW enamels, and only use their lacquer when the color i want is not available in enamel always liked that ford yellow color and am regretting not painting at least one of my 2 mustang builds in that color,i used the poly green and red in enamel, your build is superb and well done!
  14. i have the monogram 1/24 t/a kit,but i also recently bought the revell street burner 1/25 scale kit,the body looks real good to me on this kit,but i have not started it yet,i have bought some harts parts for the monogram kit,its the r/t hood to update it to a r/t challenger
  15. cool build! i like it!...thats one of my favorite kits by johan ever since i bought one back in my youth from my local hobby store for like $3 dollars and 15 cents lol now they are like $60-plus on e bay! like the color!
  16. holy cow a tobin arp rod hone,..used one for many years love the detail on the machine shop bridge port lathe quick way valve grinde rottler surfacer boring bar,all that stuff is sweet looks cool! i really need to see the whole shop diorama!
  17. yes i mist water in my spray booth then run it for about5/10-mins before painting (usually run it while i mix my paint)
  18. great build,..i must admit i never seen a chain used as a driveshaft saftey loop!,..that would never fly with a NHRA tech inspector, lol
  19. i would not cut MCW enamels with mineral spirit,as a matter of fact they dont recommend you use mineral spirits,i use lacquer thinner, store bough cheapo stuff,or my go to is mr color levelling thinner
  20. the part number you gave is a enamel as by the letter E after the part number i have hand brushed their enamel line and it works great (mostly interior stuff),never tried to hand brush a body though
  21. i use MCW paints as my go to paints, mostly the enamel line,i also use their hardner with it always drys within 24 hrs,..not forever and a day like the old testor ,i dont use a dehydrator either i use there 1-k clear, and also add hardner to that,..gives a wicked shine/finish!,..the mcw enamel paints come out so well for me that sometimes i dont need clear, and do not clear it after paint, hope this helps.
  22. my go to"s for lacquer paint are super clean, works great on tamiya paint, and works fast, and 93% alcohol ,but for enamel paints (my MCW brand sprayed with hardner and clear) i used brake fluid but it took forever and a day to loosen the paint!...next up is easy off oven cleaner!
