Who has the lowest prices on MCW enamels?
Nicholas replied to Monty's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
i use mcw paints all the time and sometimes their lacquer line when i can find the color i want in enamel,i use the enamel hardner only to speed up my drying times as i dont use a dehydrator,i also use the enemal clear a lot(looks yellowish in color in the bottle)as well as their 2k style lacquer clear and i have used the hardner with the enamel clear, but it seemed to backfire as it took months to dry and the paint was still a little soft?i wrote to mike at mcw and he did not recomend using hardner with their enamel clear, only lacquer thinner like mr color or their mcw brand as that will speed up the drying time a bit -

if its who i think it is on e bay they combine shipping,i also buy direct from mcw,it ends up being the same cost except when you buy directly from mcw they have a full stock and you dont have to wait to get the paint colors you want -

Nicholas replied to baycolony's topic in Model Cars
i always use MCW enamels, and only use their lacquer when the color i want is not available in enamel always liked that ford yellow color and am regretting not painting at least one of my 2 mustang builds in that color,i used the poly green and red in enamel, your build is superb and well done! -

MCW(Model Car World) Enamels
Nicholas replied to crowe-t's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
i would not cut MCW enamels with mineral spirit,as a matter of fact they dont recommend you use mineral spirits,i use lacquer thinner, store bough cheapo stuff,or my go to is mr color levelling thinner -

the part number you gave is a enamel as by the letter E after the part number i have hand brushed their enamel line and it works great (mostly interior stuff),never tried to hand brush a body though -
MCW(Model Car World) Enamels
Nicholas replied to crowe-t's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
i use MCW paints as my go to paints, mostly the enamel line,i also use their hardner with it always drys within 24 hrs,..not forever and a day like the old testor ,i dont use a dehydrator either i use there 1-k clear, and also add hardner to that,..gives a wicked shine/finish!,..the mcw enamel paints come out so well for me that sometimes i dont need clear, and do not clear it after paint, hope this helps. -
Paint Strippers - What to Use?
Nicholas replied to pbj59's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
my go to"s for lacquer paint are super clean, works great on tamiya paint, and works fast, and 93% alcohol ,but for enamel paints (my MCW brand sprayed with hardner and clear) i used brake fluid but it took forever and a day to loosen the paint!...next up is easy off oven cleaner!
