  1. yeah.,..thanks for your replies...the one you posted is exactly the one I have with filters specifically for paints, I also wear rubber gloves and have the vent outside the window....I just forgot to wear it that one time idiot me! I am sick so I couldnt smell it, but it got inside of me anyway apparently.. well..I will always wear it anyway so I hope I am safe...it's funny when you realize that these toys are actually not toys at all its just I am wondering, how much does it take to eventually develop serious illness...this bit really worries me! do you have to change filters on these masks?
  2. Hi Everyone Yesterday, I spent few minutes spraying one part and the cleaning the airbrush after some last week's spraying (dont judge ) I forgot to wear a mask, since I am sick and couldnt smell the fumes from AB cleaner. In the night and in the morning it was kinda harder to breathe and I felt like my body was trembling or shaking inside...then I realized I get this often usually when working with models (airbrushing). Do you experience the same like I did? How dangerous the paints and cleaners really are to our health? How quick could it take to develop serious illness? please share your experience with this so I can compare! Thanks guys!
  3. Hello Everyone I bought several alclad 2 paints and I really love these...the metal finish is great. I am building revell's 53 corvette and I wanted to self-chrome the parts, but I failed. I bought the black gloss primer, de-chromed one small part (I think it's a tank)...then I sprayed it with the blackgloss primer and then the chrome.. The result was bad...it just looked like a mess of metal flakes... Any ideas what I did wrong? What is your experience with using chrome alclad; especially on small parts? Thanks all!!
  4. hi there...this looks great...just wondering.. how did you do the lenses and the leather-like surface? Thanks!!
  5. wow, it looks so clean and neat...very nice build!!
  6. Hi All Finally I finished the '99 SVT Cobra Mustang..my second build in my modelling career I liked working on this kit and I put a lot of effort in the interior and the engine - I really like how the engine turned out, using alclads and zero paints and also the interior, mix of tamiya and zero paints and for the first time I made carpets despite all that. this was a tough build, as the kit did not fit together and it was difficult closing the body and making the chassis parts fit in place (I kept removing the parts by accident and I even broke the front axle as those were hair thin duh ), but somehow I managed to finish it...it is in a 'LOOKY BUT NO TOUCHY' state here is a link to WIP thread, where engine details and carpets can be seen http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/115884-monogram-1999-mustang-svt-cobra-124/ below are few pics...quality is bad, but even though I have a photobox, I dont have a prop camera :/ so, enjoy the build and as always, thanks for any comments or critique! thanks!!!
  7. Hello All I just started another Mustang, after finishing my Hertz Shelby and '99 Cobra SVT.. This time I am building AMT 50th Anniversary 1997 Mustang and am looking forward to the build. I already painted and coated the body, paint used was Tamiya metallic blue and mr top coat gloss...I also used tamiya panel accent color for panel accents...I like how the paint job turned out, but on the left bender and the hood, the color is gradiently darker than the rest...I am not sure how this happened, but I guess coat overspray :/ I will post more picture as I go.. anyway, enjoy the few pictures and as always..comments are very welcome!!!
  8. allrighty..I just finished this model and will also post the result in pau section, but am attaching more WIP photos... this build was pain in the neck...I spent HOURS detailing the interior (did carpets for the first time ) and the engine which came out beautiful IMO, but in the end, fitting all the rest together...omg this kit just did not fit at all, parts kept falling off and I just couldnt make it all fit together, the interior part did not fit the chassis part, the chassis parts were too small to handle and stick in a place...I guess I need more practice with fitting and gluing.. all in all..it came out very nice and I am happy I got it over.. next is AMT 1997 50th Anniversary Mustang...http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/116449-amt-50th-anniversary-1997-mustang/ ...thanks for your comments! PS: link to pau http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/116450-monogram-1999-mustang-svt-cobra/
  9. Hi, thanks for your reply! attached is the spray booth...over the weekend i was using ZeroPaints, both paints and primers, some alclad II paints, tamiya paints, tamiya airbrush cleaner and alclad airbrush cleaner (these smell the worst).. I think next time I need to make sure I go deeper inside the booth when spraying..I also probably could clean the filter..or even replace it..and close the room door when working to make sure it does not spread to the whole flat..I mean I smelled in my bedroom when going to bed...yuck
  10. I love the details! this is going to be very nice! keep it up, looking forward for more pics
  11. wow thanks guys makes me very happy to read these nice comments...this is my second build! it will need more time eventually as I am waiting for several new items, like tamiya panel accent colors, flocking materials and and other..I will post pictures of my progress...until then, again, thanks a bunch for your cheering comments!
  12. WOW, one of the most beautiful builds I've seen!
  13. thanks guys - I really appreciate your feedback..I am currently working on another Mustang, 1999 SVT Cobra this time...I bought quality paints (zero paints and alclads, I mean working with these is a pleasure) this time and so far it is coming along great...I will post it once I am finished
  14. quick quesion...I do my airbrushing inside, and actually it is a small room...I have this spray booth with ventilation tube leading out of my window...anyway, I sprayed the whole weekend and my whole apartment smelled from the chemicals...so even though I use mask while spraying and most of the fumes go out, is it still harmful when the whole flat smells of chemicals? thanks...
